You let out a long sigh of relief as your coach announced that your practice had come to an end. As much as you loved volleyball, you were worn out.

"Leave the nets up!" your coach barked before (he/she) exited the gym with a wave. You waved goodbye to your teammates as they left the gym as well, chatting amongst themselves as they went on their ways home.

As you picked up a volleyball and mindlessly spun it in between your hands, you tried to calm your mind. You enjoyed being the captain of the team, especially since the other girls respected you and looked up to you, but you were definitely feeling the pressure. Just knowing that your teammates were relying on you to be strong during their times of weakness gave you the desire to practice harder. You didn't want to let them down.

Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted when the volleyball was swatted out of your hands, slamming down onto the floor before another hand grabbed it and stole it away. You squeaked quietly with surprise and whirled around to see your boyfriend standing behind you, playfully dribbling the ball with his hand.

"Tobio, what are you doing?" you asked softly as he dribbled the ball between his legs before spinning it atop his fingers.

"My practice is over, and I thought I'd be able to catch a glimpse of your practice if I got here fast enough," he answered calmly, wiping a few beads of sweat off his forehead with his free hand.

"Why? Are you developing an interest in volleyball?" you wondered as a smirk crept across your lips.

He scoffed. "No. I don't understand why you like this sport so much..."

You growled at his comment and smacked the ball out of his hands before trying to dribble it yourself. "Oh yeah? And what's so fun about doing this all the time?" You bounced the ball up and down with an unimpressed look on your face. "Look at me, I'm bouncing a ball up and down!"

"Unskilled people don't understand the true beauty of the sports they can't play," Kageyama stated matter-of-factly. He then stole the ball out of your hands, dribbled it down the court, going underneath the net, and shot it into the basketball hoop with clean precision.

"Is that so?" you challenged as you walked over to him and grabbed the ball out of his hands again. You tossed it into the air and set it into the basket, and it made a satisfying sound as it fell through the net.

"Your form sucks."

"How rude."

You threw the volleyball at him and it smacked him in the chest. "What the hell, (f/n)!"

"You were supposed to put your arms out and pass that!" you instructed smugly.

"I don't even know how to pass!"

You approached your angry boyfriend and grabbed his arms, pushing them together and telling him to lock his elbows. You then wrapped his hands around each other and told him to hold his arms out like that as you tossed a ball at him.

He floundered and swung his arms around, making you burst into laughter. Embarrassed, he pouted and turned away from you, going to pick up the ball that he'd sent flying across the gym. Since you'd made him frustrated by his inability to do something well, he tried again, and you tossed the ball to him a few more times, pausing to show him the correct posture.

"Alright, I got the ball back to you, so we don't need to waste anymore time with that," Kageyama spat as a blush covered his cheeks. He was obviously flustered.

There was a short pause in your conversation as he looked at the volleyball in his hands for a moment.

"Whatcha doing there, Kags?" you asked curiously with a giggle.

"What's this called? I've seen you do it a few times." He tossed the ball up into the air and attempted to push it towards you with his hands. Instead, it rolled off his fingers and spun backwards behind his head. You snickered, and he yelled at you before trying again.

"That's called setting," you informed him when he'd finally to successfully set the ball to you. You couldn't help but think about how cute it was that he was trying so hard.

His face twisted up in thought for a moment as his deep blue eyes contemplated the ball. He then took his aim before shooting the ball all the way into the ball cart at the other end of the gym. "I'm hungry. Let's go and get something to eat," he suggested.

You both grabbed your bags before leaving the gym together. "Hey, Tobio, I think you're really good at basketball. It looks so cool when you shoot!" you complimented him and smiled brightly.

His face flushed, and he looked away as you wrapped your hand around his warm and slightly sweaty one. "Iguessyou'regoodatvolleyballtoo..." he mumbled and scratched the back of his head sheepishly.

"Maybe I should start trying to play basketball," you suggested jokingly and wiggled your eyebrows, "And maybe I could get you to play volleyball."

"No." His head swiveled around quickly to look at you with a stoic expression. "Basketball is life. Ball is life."

Even though he was dead serious, you couldn't take him seriously when you said that. You burst out laughing once again. "You sound like such a nerd when you say that!" you commented in between breaths.

"Shut up..." he grumbled and smacked the back of your head lightly, "it's not that funny. Anyway, what are we going to eat?"

You readjusted your ponytail and shrugged. "How about barbecue?" you suggested.

He suddenly let go of your hand and started going that strange dance of his, putting his hands by his sides and swaying back and forth to some imaginary beat in his head. "Tobio!" you barked, "Quit that before someone sees you, you idiot!"

You gave him and shove and wrapped your arms around one of his to prevent him from escaping your grasp and doing that embarrassing dance again. "Sorry, I got excited because I like barbecue." You shook your head in mock disapproval and chuckled slightly. "You know, when I watch your games, I'm surprised by how hard you hit."

Now it was your turn to blush. "Oh? I can teach you how to hit like that if you want, you know!" You smiled brightly at him and he scoffed once again.

"Don't be getting the idea that I like volleyball."

"Okay..." you lied, pretending to sound dejected.

Of course he liked it. You knew very well that he always showed interest in things by repeatedly denying that he liked them.
