Grumbling, you struggled the scrub the last of the writing off of your arm while you were in the shower. Your soulmate, whoever they were, certainly needed an agenda since they wrote every homework assignment down on their arms. You'd seen everything from work to formulas written on your arms despite the fact that a pen hadn't touched your skin.

After you got out of the shower, you dried off and put on a pair of pajamas before sitting on your bed and opening up your notebook to continue some homework you hadn't finished. As you worked with a pen in hand, you found yourself absentmindedly doodling on the insides of your arms. You only stopped when you noticed a big black scrawl over the cat you'd drawn that appeared to have been made by a thick marker.

It was quite frustrating having a soulmate who did this. Whenever you drew something cute on your arms, you'd always find it scribbled out. This annoyed you, so you'd usually draw more on different spots on your arms. You even went so far as to draw on your legs.

When you did that, your soulmate didn't notice the cute little doodles until he got to volleyball practice, changed into his shorts, and saw a flower drawn on his leg, much to his dismay.

The two of you sometimes communicated by writing on yourselves. For instance, when your soulmate crossed out one of your drawings, you'd sometimes respond by writing, "Hey!" on your arm.

He'd then respond by writing, "QUIT IT."

You resisted the urge to draw inappropriate things because you knew that you'd have to draw them on yourself in order for him to see that.

One thing you thought was strange about your relationship with your soulmate was the fact that you didn't even know who he was. You'd never asked one another via writing on your arm, and you figured that the only reason why he didn't ask you was because he didn't care. So you didn't ask him either.

One day, during school, you were copying notes down for your chemistry class. At the same time, you were furiously trying to write formulas down on your arms to use on the quiz that your teacher was going to give you at the end of the period, but it was hard to when your soulmate was writing down homework on the same arm, since you both were righties.

"Stop it! I need to see what I'm writing!" you wrote down quickly.

"SO DO I," your soulmate scrawled.

"F you."

Your writing was quickly scribbled out, so you rushed to find open space anywhere on your arm to copy down the formulas.

Later that day, during lunch, you got out your trusty pen and started doodling on your thigh. Feeling bored, you decided to write on your arm again despite the fact that you'd just washed it off moments ago in the bathroom. "Where are you?"

You watched curiously as the response was written out on your arm. "I'M AT THE GYM. Y?"

"I want to meet you. I'm coming now."

Amazingly enough, you'd figured out that your soulmate went to the same school as you did because you saw him writing down homework that was exactly the same as what you'd been assigned, but at different times. He'd also written to you about certain teachers at the school from time to time. Now, you'd decided that it was finally time to meet him once and for all.

When you arrived at the gym, you walked in to see a boy that you recognized as Kageyama Tobio talking to a very terrified looking girl: Yachi Hitoka.

"Is it you?! Show me your arms! Lift up your sleeves and show me your arms!"

Yachi was practically screaming with fear, and her whole body was shaking to the point where she couldn't even get a grip on her sleeve to pull it up and show him that she had nothing on her arms.

"No, it's not her, you dumbass. It's me," you called across the gym, making Yachi squeal and Kageyama watch you with narrowed blue eyes. Once Kageyama had turned his attention to you, Yachi bolted and sprinted out the door, her short blonde hair flying behind her.

"So you're the one who's been messing up my arms, then?" he asked, his voice low and angry.

You nodded confidently. "And you're the one who's been messing up my wonderful doodles and chemistry formulas." You held your arms out towards him and showed him your most recent conversation.

He sighed deeply and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "I guess I'll have to get used to that stupid writing of yours, then," he groaned.

"Do you even realize how much space your writing takes up? It's obnoxious!"

"Oh, shut up! You should be happy I even respond to you! In fact, I carry a pen around with me everywhere I go now so that I can write back."

There was a short silence as Kageyama realized what he'd just said. His face turned red and he looked away, while a light blush dusted your cheeks and hope filled your (e/c) eyes.

"You really do that?" you breathed.

He nodded and frowned. After a few more moments of silence, he took a deep breath and put his hands on your shoulders before pushing you out of the gym. "Now, if you would excuse me, I'm trying to do some extra practice!"

The gym door slammed shut behind you, followed by a rush of cold air. You pouted as you walked away from the door. Your heart lifted, however, when you noticed a new message written on your arms.

"YOUR REALLY PRETTY."

You chuckled. At least he tried.

"*you're," you wrote back, "but thank you. ♡"
