The brothers having decided on the game they wanted to play, smiled at you, their eyes twinkling in delight. Heart walked over to you, grabbing the top of your chair with one of his hands. With his hand gripped on the chair, he began to drag you over to a golden door with a silver door knob. Silver hearts and diamonds were engraved in the metal door, giving recognition to the two brothers. Diamond stood up from his chair and opened the door, allowing Heart to push your chair and you into the next room. Diamond proceeded into the room afterwards, closing the door behind him.

Once you were in the room, you once again were met by a forest. However, this one thankfully had no shadows roaming around the trees. Instead dark green leaves rested on thick branches, which connected to a thicker tree base. Green grass littered the base of the forest being the only thing else in this forest besides the endless trees. It was completely silent expect for the breathing of you three. No animals, lanterns or streams were present in the forest, which gave it an overly creepy atmosphere. You almost wanted the creatures with the glowing eyes to become apparent, so to give the forest a little more activity.

Both brothers walked in front of your chair and stopped a few paces in front of you.

"Well , I am ready to start brother" Heart stated.

"As am I".

They bowed in front of you, each with an excited grin planted on their faces.

"Please do try to have some fun Miss _____".

"Yes, do well to please us, my dear lady".

Diamond snapped his fingers and the restraints on your chair vanished. Feeling nothing holding you back, you stood out of your chair and grasped it. Despite your injured state, you threw the chair at the two twins, but before the chair could make impact they disappeared, but you knew they were watching you from somewhere in the trees. Colliding with the ground, the chair broke into several pieces. Walking up to the broken chair, you picked up one of the larger pieces. At the current moment you could see nothing ahead in the woods, but the trees. Though, that was the case, you still felt you needed to arm yourself. A piece of wood would probably not do much, but it was better than nothing.

Thus you made your way into the sea of trees with the grass crunching under your feet, giving away your position to anything that roamed in the forest. At one point you became irritated to the point where you wanted to take off your shoes, but decided against it in case you needed to run in the future.

What felt like twenty minutes passed and nothing had happened. You knew the brothers wanted you to find one of their doors, but how could one find anything in these woods? However, at the same time you were glad that you had not found a door yet. This gave you more time away from them. You were slightly delighted with the uneventful forest because you guessed that the two brothers were extremely bored at the moment.

What felt like another ten minutes passed and still nothing happened, nor did you see anything new. Frustrated and tired, you halted your movement and glanced around you, trying to see anything of interest in the forest. Furthermore, your legs were growing only weaker as time passed; your injuries weren't even healed completely. Sure they had bandages around them, but that didn't mean they were healed. Not being able to stand anymore, you collapsed to the ground. You couldn't see anything new, but you suddenly felt something come across your legs.

Looking down, you saw mist beginning to form in the forest while the sound of crying resonated throughout the forest. Normally you would assume that crying meant someone was hurt physically or mentally, but due to the current situation only a chill ran up your spine. That crying sounded more of a warning than anything else, especially with the mist now forming on the forest floor. The crying sound grew louder and you decided to was time to get up and head away from it.

"It would seem the Crier has finally awakened" Diamond mentioned.

"About time, it will surely speed things up. She'll find one of our doors in no time now".

"Indeed, but let's make sure she does not die yet. I have too many plans for her, Heart".

"You worry too much, Diamond. Let's just enjoy the show".

"I suppose you're right".

Now on your feet, you quickened your pace, but could not run due to your weakened legs. This frustrated you, as you could tell that the crying sound was only getting nearer. Sighing, you pressed forward until you reached two paths in the forest. One probably led to Heart's door and the other to Diamond's door. From where you were standing you could tell that the paths made turns up ahead, one leading west, the other east. However, in between the paths lay just more trees. You wanted to get rid of the crying that was following you, but at the same time you didn't want to enter one of the brothers' door. Thus gathering up your courage, you didn't take either path, but went head first into the trees that separated the paths.

"Ah, it looks like she's avoiding the paths, which lead to our doors. What should we do Diamond?".

"Let's continue watching, she'll realize her mistake in avoiding the paths soon enough and will go back towards one of them".

Heading into the trees, the mist at your feet grew, reaching up to your knees. The trees allowed almost no light in, making the area almost pitch black. You had to slow down your pace in order to navigate your way around the trees. You would not go down one of the paths. You had no idea if the forest ended up ahead, or if you were heading deeper into endless woods. Hopefully it would be the first case and not the second.

As you continued the crying finally stopped after what seemed to be eight minutes. However, the new silence only terrified you more and you could hear your heart pounding rapidly in your chest. Stopping, you turned around and looked through the trees behind you to see if the creature was still following you. To your utter horror, your eyes landed on creature about your height. It had nothing covering its body except its own pale skin with various small rips in the skin, as though the skin was not made for its wearer. Its fingers were long and pointed made for killing. There were no eyes or mouth on the creature's face, but only a circular mouth with skin stretching from one lip to the other. Inside the creature's mouth there were no teeth, or a tongue; it was just a pit of void.

Backing away slowly, you watched to see if it would make any movements. Cocking its head to the side, it moved one foot forward and then the other before halting its movement again. Bringing both of its hands up to its face, it dragged its pointed fingers down its own face. The creature's action seemed to happen in slow motion before it let out a horrifying cry filled with sadness and hunger. Blood dripped down its face, as it stared at you with its eyeless face.

There was only one thing left to do, run. The piece of wood in your hand would do nothing against that creature you reasoned, so you dropped it and pushed your legs as hard as you could. It hurt like crazy and you could feel the wounds on your legs reopen. Blood trickled down your legs and into your shoes, which made you want to rip your shoes and socks from your feet, but in the current situation such a thing was not possible. Your running was starting to die down, as your legs cried in protest, but you could hear the creature trailing behind you.

A minute passed, then another, and another but hope came into your vision as light flooded into the forest. You could see a deserted village in the distance and with a new found strength you bounded towards it. Cries carried on behind you, but you didn't turn around. Only ten more steps and you would be within the village. The creature let out another loud cry and you could hear it increase its pace.

On your last step, you leaped forward and landed on the cobblestone road. On your knees you looked behind you, and saw that to your luck the creature could not step out of the forest. It banged its hands against an invisible wall, as it cried out loudly. Turning back around, you let a sigh of relief and picked yourself up. The creature lay behind you and the deserted village lay in front of you; you had avoided the brothers' doors.

"She made it to the village. That's quite frustrating".

"Are you giving up Heart? We can always change the game, or I can just take her for myself".

"I'm not giving up Diamond; I will win. Like you said we just have to change the game. I know, how about a game of hide and seek. First one to find and catch her wins. What do you say brother?".

"Yes, that will work. We'll leave her alone for ten minutes and then begin the game".

Both brothers agreed on the terms and disappeared till their game began, leaving you alone in the village. However, you knew nothing of their new game, you were still a piece on their chessboard.
