Chapter 24: Prepare For Tomorrow

-Monae POV-

"Aight y'all last song" Chloe said.

" Do Cry For You over" DeVante said.

"This time I'm switching the words around" Savannah said.

"Whatever it don't matter" he retorted.

Savannah rolled her eyes at him and he just laughed at it. After 4Mins and 19Secs rehearsal finally ended.

"Yo! Let me holla at y'all right quick" I said motioning them over.

"What" Savannah asked as they finally came over.

"Is it that time of the month? You in a bitchy mood for some reason" I said.

"No, Mother Nature ain't come through yet" she said folding her arms across her chest.

"I need y'all help" I said sitting back down.

"With what" Chloe asked.

"The whole JoJo thing" I said.

"What do you need help with? Like what to say or something" Jade asked.

"Yeah i'm real nervous" I said twiddling with my fingers.

"Just be yourself" Jade said.

"Except don't be all up in his grill" Savannah said.

"And don't be too loud" Chloe said.

"And please do not get faded" Jade said.

"Or wasted" Savannah chimed in.

I laughed shaking my head because they know me so well. "Aight thanks y'all" I said.

I got up following behind them to get off of the stage. We all hugged the boys and made our way out of the music room.

"Yo Monae" I heard JoJo call out.

"Yeah" I retorted turning around.

He jogged to catch up to me. "We still on for tomorrow" he asked.

"Yeah" I said smiling a little as my heart rate went up.

"Aight cool, looking forward to it." He said smiling at me.

"Me too, goodnight Joel" I smiled before exiting the music room.

"Y'all need a ride" Savannah asked.

"Nah I'll walk" I told her.

"Alright later and get home safe" Savannah said.

"Yeah and don't stress about tomorrow" Jade said.

" What everyone else said! You have this in the bag girl!" Chloe said throwing up her two thumbs for good luck.

I laughed and waved goodbye as I started my short journey home. After 10 minutes of walking I finally made it home. I made my way in the house being sure to lock the door behind me. I threw my bag to the floor.

"Nichole" I called out.

"Yeah" she said from inside the kitchen.

I slipped my shoes off and then walked into the kitchen.

"Hey, where Jarid at" I asked going over to the fridge.

"Football practice and hey" she said.

"Oh shit I forgot that was today" I said closing the fridge after grabbing a can of Pepsi.

I turned around walking over to the table where she's writing in a notebook.

"You doing homework" I asked.

"Yeah and this math problem is fucking hard" she said throwing her pencil down.

"First off little girl, watch your mouth" I said sitting down.

"Secondly, let me see it" I continued and she turned the book to me.

I looked over the problem and this shit looked confusing to me.

"Wait, the answer is five" I said.

I went over the problem with her and a few other ones to make sure she actually understood what to do better.

"Thanks for the help Monae." She smiled. "What do you want in return" she asked smile disappearing.

"Nothing, I was just being helpful is all" I retorted sipping my Pepsi.

She gave me a skeptical look but nodded. "Thanks anyway" she said.

I left the kitchen and plopped on the couch in the living room. I turned the TV on and started flicking through the channels. I stopped on Boy Meets World.

My thoughts slowly drifted to JoJo and what to expect for tomorrow.
