Tommy

"Okay, so tell me this again?" Nikki asks.

It's the end of January and the girls have been doing a lot with the official release their new record, the manager and producer are actually talking about sending them on an international tour within the next couple months. Like I'm really excited for the girls but I really don't want to be away from Darcy for that long.

Darcy was right about CC's intentions in Alabama with Dani's family. He asked D to marry him on Christmas Eve in front of her dad and little brother. Darcy had fun spending Dani's money on alcohol and I had fun drinking with my girlfriend.

That's when I decided.

Somewhere between seeing Darcy drunker than I've ever seen her in my life, her trying to dance on the bar, and her getting so pissed drunk that she literally forgot who I was and tried to pick me up. In her stumbling, slurring, giggly drunken way I realized that I'm completely in love with her and that I never want anyone else. I decided I am going to ask Darcy to marry me.

"I'm going to ask Darcy to marry me." I say and he sighs.

"T-Bone, you guys have only been back together since July." Nikki says and I sigh.

"Nik, I love this little broad, she's my whole world. I've been completely in love with her for almost a year and we would've been together all that time of it wasn't for Bret fucking Michaels." The asshole's name leaves a bad taste in my mouth and Nikki laughs. "I want to spend the rest of my life with Darcy and I want to start now."

"Do you and Darcy ever talk about marriage?" Nikki wonders.

"Not officially." I admit.

"T, what if she doesn't want to get married?" He asks and I slump down in my chair.

"That didn't cross my mind." I admit. "Doesn't every girl want to get married one day?"

"Maybe one day but one day isn't always today. Darcy is coming off of the biggest year of her life, add the fact that her parents aren't in the picture and she might not want to get married at all." Nikki explains. "I mean I could be completely wrong."

Nikki could be right. Darcy doesn't like celebrating herself and a wedding quite literally revolves around her and I. I mean Darcy didn't want to have a big party for her birthday either, she wanted to stay home and watch movies. But I made it the best for her.

If we were going to stay in and watch movies on her twenty third birthday it was going to be the best it possibly could be. We ordered in from her favourite restaurant and we made a tent out of blankets. We watched so many movies on the big screen in the basement. Everything was perfect.

Best part of all, Darcy looked comfortable. She was wearing Spider-Man boxer shorts (I'm not quite sure if she bought them or stole them from and ex boyfriend) and a old Zeppelin t shirt. That crazy gorgeous blood red hair was thrown up into a messy ponytail and was pulled in a way that you could see her light ginger roots that are slowly creeping back in. Darcy is gorgeous all the time but when she's comfortable is when she's the most beautiful.

We layer under that blanket tent for hours watching countless movies. I've never met a girl that could quote The Godfather before and I think it's a rare species so I'm happy I have one as a girlfriend.

I can't remember hold late it was but it was getting really late. Darcy was leaning against me holding my hand with one of her legs on top of mine. We were watching Jaws and I just remembered that I forgot to give her the present I bought for her.

"Hey babe." I asked and she looked over at me. "Close your eyes for a second, would you?"

"Uhh, okay." Darcy agreed reluctantly.

I pulled the sliver chain from my pocket and I look at the hanging charm. It's a sparkling star that reminds me of our night in the playground. I smile as I clasp it around her neck.

"Open your eyes, baby." I said and I saw her big beautiful eyes flutter open.

Her eyes go down to the necklace and she smiles. Darcy picks up the charm and her smile broadens.

"It's like that night at the playground." Darcy said and looked at me. "I love it, just like I love you." She kissed my lips and I smiled. "Thank you for giving me the best birthday ever."

"You deserve the world, Darc." I told her and kissed her lips again.

"Tommy!" Nikki yells drawing me out of my daydream. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just in my own little world." I promise and he nods. "I really hope you're wrong about Darc not wanting to get married."

"I'd hope so." Nikki laughs.

"I mean, I uh." I laugh a bit. "I bought the ring already."

Nikki's eyes grow and it takes him a few minutes to find the proper words. He looks at me with his mouth moving but nothing coming you.

"T, you don't even know if she wants to get married and you bought the ring?" He asks and I nod.

"Do you want to see it? I picked it up from the jewelry store this morning." I explain as I walk over to my jacket.

I pull out the small black box and toss it at Nikki. He catches it and opens it, Nikki laughs.

"It is the most Darcy thing I have ever seen." He admits and I smile.

"That's what I thought. Look at how tiny the ring is, my girl has the littlest hands." I say and he smirks.

"Bet everything looks big in her hands, hey T-Bone." Nikki laughs and I roll my eyes.

"Okay, I'm going to get a beer. Want one?" I ask and he laughs again.

"Didn't answer the question." He states as I walk into the kitchen.

I no more than get the fridge door open and I hear Nikki yell.

"Oh fuck!"

I walk back to the doorway and look into the front room.

"What's wrong?" I ask and he holds up his hand.

Sitting on his middle finger halfway between his first and second knuckle is the black jewelled engagement ring.

"It's fucking stuck." Nikki says quietly.
