Canadian Talk Shows

We're booked to do this talk show here in Halifax and it's the ungodly hour of eleven o'clock in the morning.

We've been on tour for month and a bit and in that last month we've done shows all over Canada. Tonight is our last show in Canada before we fly down to Birmingham for Dani's and CC's wedding. Crüe is flying in from Australia some time today (before us, we won't be there until early tomorrow morning). Poison is already in Alabama making sure everything is good for the wedding day. Today is the fourteenth and Dani is getting married on the sixteenth, we're all on different flights on the eighteenth, just to give you a timeline. We're all going to be fucking beat!

I don't like being away from Tommy and I miss him. It's hard to talk to him with us being on different sides of the country and Tommy being thirteen hours ahead of us, it's not easy by any means. We got to make it work though, it sucks having to wake the other up just to talk to them.

Anyways we're getting set up in the couch in the studio thing. I'm placed on the end beside Jade and far from Dani because apparently we'll get into trouble or something, I'm not sure where they got that idea.

The host comes out and everything starts to roll.

"I am joined by the band that is taking the world by storm. They toured this past summer with Mötley Crüe, I am with Kristallnacht." She says. "Dani Bradley, Rose Nixon, Jade Morrison, and Darcy Killinbeck. First off, welcome to the show and how is Canada treating you?"

"It's cold." Dani laughs.

"It's not that bad." I say.

"We are notoriously cold. So you girls are huge in the United States, Roots has been on the top ten charts since June. We don't know all that much about you four." She explains.

"Well Darcy, Rose, and I have been together since 1980. We're not all that bright so we all moved in together at sixteen when we all moved out to LA." Jadie explains. "Dani joined up with us just before we got signed."

"So you're all pretty good friends?" The host asks.

"Yeah I mean we all really clicked. Darcy and Dani clicked right away, like to the point of them getting into trouble together." Rose explains.

"There's a reason we're placed at opposite ends of the couch." I add with a laugh.

"Dani and Darcy also have somethings in common. Both of you are engaged to other musicians, Tommy Lee and CC Deville?" She asks.

"Yeah, I'm going to marry the insanely talented Tommy Lee and D is going to marry CC." I agree.

"For you and Tommy, do you have any dates set yet?" The host wonders.

"We're not sure yet." I lie.

Tommy and I both agreed that we weren't going to tell any press about when we're getting married. Well for obvious reasons, we didn't want helicopters or press at our wedding. As it is it's just going to be small. The bands, Amy, her daughters, and Tommy's parents and grandparents. Like that's not enough to fill a church, not enough to hold off reporters and outside photographer. As is Tommy hired an insane amount of security guards just in case.

"So who's the primary song writer for the group?" The host asks.

"Well it's Rose for the most part but Darcy wrote Roots at two o'clock in the morning." Jade explains.

"I like this story!" Dani laughs.

"I'm a bit of an insomniac to start with then I had the idea for the song, then it was I have to put this to music." I explain.

"She woke me up and I read what she had written and it was amazing." Rose adds.

"Then blondie ran upstairs to wake me up." Jade concludes. "It was a real shit show but I guess it kinda worked out." She laughs.

"So your band has a bit of a interesting name. I mean it's something horrible that happened in Germany just before the Second World War. Who's idea was this and why?"

"That was our Darcy's idea." Rose laughs.

"Okay, I can explain myself." I laugh. "So I'm like a real history dork because I have a really good memory--"

"When alcohol isn't involved." Dani cuts in and I laugh.

"That is true but like I'm not being racist or bringing up bad memories for Germany, just The Night Of Broken Glass sounded really really cool. So I stayed up and designed the logo--"

"Insomnia coming through again." The host comments and I laugh.

"Yeah." I agree.

"So does that ever get in the way?" She asks.

"Well I can sleep almost anywhere and staying up all night long is kinda a bonus for playing concerts." I explain. "The only thing that gets in the way is when Dani calls at two o'clock in the morning and wakes up Tommy."

"I'm a bit of an insomniac as well." Dani laughs.

"There's a lot of rumours about your group, I was hoping we could break some of those?" The host asks and we nod. "Rose being a ditz."

"No." I say. "She's like the smartest person I know and keeps all of us out of trouble."

"Jadie being goth."

"Look at me." She laughs.

"Dani being a whore."

"She's been with CC for almost four years or something?" Rose states.

"Darcy being fake."

"She can't be fake!" Dani laughs. "She's her own person completely. I mean look at her hair! Darcy is the most original person I've ever met."

"We're out of time for today. That you Rose, Darcy, Jade, and Dani and best of luck with the rest of your tour." The host smiles and the recording stops.

I laugh and elbow Jade.

"Wasn't that bad, huh?" I ask with a laugh.
