Tommy

I love being married to Darcy because some times it's like we're the same person. Take this morning for example. I came downstairs from showering and I was going to make waffles because I really wanted waffles, I come downstairs to see my wife making waffles claiming that she really wanted them too. It's like weird connected or in sync or something, it's great.

I also really love lazy Sunday mornings because that's what today is. I love mornings where I don't have to get up and go to the studio and Darcy doesn't have to do press stuff. I love mornings when we can watch cartoons or play the Nintendo. We love playing Super Sprint, not actually for the game content or anything or to actually win, we like to run each other off the road.

The past six months have been hard for lack of a better term. I mean we've been completely unsuccessful in conceiving a child. Darcy has to watch Rose and Jade get ready to have their babies and watch Dani raise hers while we can't get pregnant. It's breaking Darcy's heart and she's fed up with it. My wife decided that if she doesn't get pregnant by the end of this month that's she's going to the doctors to see if anything is wrong.

Right now I sit with my back against the couch and Darcy between my legs. This is how we always play video games. We're playing Super Sprint again.

Darcy sits wearing her a old shirt of mine and a pair of boxers with The Flash logo all over them. Her blood red hair is thrown up into a ponytail and she's barefoot. I just wear a pair of plaid pyjama pants. I think it's funny that this even even what we slept in last night, we woke up and got showered then put this on.

"Which car are you again, babe?" I ask and kiss the top of her head.

"The blue one." Darcy answers and I smirk.

I purposely run my car into hers and her blue car goes spinning off the track. Darcy smacks my knee and I laugh.

"I hate you sometimes, you know that right?" She wonders and I smile.

"I love you too." I laugh and pull her closer to me with my legs.

We take turns running each other off the road for about an hour before Darcy gets up to get a bottle of water. She said she didn't feel too good so she wasn't going to attempt beer or Jack Daniels. I pause the game and follow her into the kitchen.

"Babe, do you want a beer?" She asks me with her head in the fridge.

"Yeah." I say as I lean on the counter. "How are you feeling?"

"Sick. Anthony was starting to get a cold last time I saw him so I might've picked it up from him." Darcy explains as she hands me my beer.

"You don't usually get sick though." I remind her as she drinks and she nods.

"Yeah, I don't get that either. I thought I had a pretty strong immune system." She admits.

All at once the colour drains from her face and she covers her mouth. Darcy makes a little squeak noise then bolts out of the kitchen. I get kinda worried and I chase after her. I find my wife sitting on her knee in front of the toilet puking her guts up. I sit down on the floor beside her and rub her back.

Darcy tries to stand up quickly but stumbles back down. I get her to sit against the wall and wet a wash cloth for her. She wipes her mouth and I sit down across form her wig my back against the vanity.

"Are you sure your just sick?" I ask and her eyes grow. "Well are you late?"

"I don't know." She admits.

"Darcy how don't you remember bleeding for seven days straight?" I wonder and she goes cross eyed.

"Tommy, I don't remember what I ate for breakfast." Darcy tells me and I laugh.

"Babe, it's in the toilet!" I remind her and she smiles. "Do you still have piss sticks here?"

"Yeah, up stairs." She says as she stands up again and flushes the toilet.

"Take one." I say as I stand up.

"I'm going to brush my teeth first." Darcy tells me and I laugh.

"Fair enough." I say.

Darcy brushes her teeth then downs the remaining of her water bottle so she has to piss. She then goes up stairs to the ensuite bathroom and I follow her up and sit on our bed. Darcy comes out and drops down on the bed beside me.

"What if I'm just sick?" She asks after a while.

"Then we'll keep trying." I say and she half smiles.

"How have you been staying optimistic through this all?" Darcy wonders and I smile.

"Because I know that if it's meant to be then it will be." I say simply. "Besides you're always strong, you need me to be strong now."

Darcy laces her fingers through mine and knocks her head into my shoulder.

"I love you." She says quietly and I bring her hand up to my lips and kiss her knuckles.

"I love you too." I say and look at the time. "The test is probably done." I say and Darcy grips my hand a bit tighter.

"I'm scared." She admits and I smile. "Will you check it?"

"Yeah of course." I say and stand up.

I walk towards the bathroom door with Darcy not that far behind me. I stand in front of the kitchen counter and her arms wrap around my chest from behind. I look down at the pregnancy test and smile. Two pink likes face up at me.

"Hey babe, you might want to look at this." I say and she peeks out around me.

"I'm pregnant?" She asks and I nod.

"Baby, you're pregnant!" I say and pull her around in front up me.

I pick my wife up off her feet and she puts her forehead on mine. This little redhead from North Carolina makes me the happiest man on this planet and after six months of trying and failing she's carrying my baby. Darcy cups my face and kisses my lips gently.

"We're going to have a baby, Tommy." She beams and I smile.

"It's about damn time." I laugh.
