A/N 7/19/17: Y'know? I was going to edit this whole book but now I realize I should leave the rest untouched. I have other new projects I'm working on. This book helped me become a better writer and I should be proud that most of the chapters kinda sucked. The later chapters are better written and improvement is obvious in my writing. So here's to improvement :)

There's a loud pounding at the door. "Letter for Isabelle Carter." says Mr. D, who is actually Dionysus, the God of wine, and, well, partying.

"That's me," I say, hoping he won't wake my siblings. Too Late. They groan at Mr. D.

"Oh, get over it, you brats." he calls into the cabin. Then, just like that, he's gone.

My brothers and sisters, who realize it was time to get up anyway, get ready and go to breakfast. I remain in the cabin, alone. I decide to open the letter. I look at it. The envelope, which is a creamy beige, has a red wax seal with the letters NW on it. I immediately know who it's from. I read the letter.

"Dear Isabelle, we would be honored if you came to our mansion in Gravity Falls, Oregon, to spend the Summer with your cousin Pacifica. We will be gone a lot on business and we wouldn't want to leave her alone. We will send a driver on June 3rd with a plane ticket. If you decide not to go, please write or call. Sincerely, The Northwests."

Oh gods, June 3rd? That's tomorrow!

I have a lot to consider. First, I've been to Oregon exactly zero times. Second, last time I even saw Pacifica, we were four years old. Pacifica was a little diva back then, and she probably still is. The chances of her not being a total bitch are very slim. But it's probably too late to respond anyway, thanks to Mr. D, who likes to purposely deliver our mail late.

This is a good enough reason for me. The next day, I pack a duffel bag with clothes and toiletries, which is all I have. My backpack contains trail mix, a few books, my dagger, a small notepad and pen, a pouch of drachmas, a flask of nectar, and a Ziplock baggie of ambrosia, just in case.

"Izzy, are you seriously leaving me alone for the whole Summer?" pouts Annabeth.

"Annabeth, you know you won't be alone. You have Percy, and I'm only a drachma away." I say.

"It won't be the same!" she whines.

"You sound like a five-year-old." I say, rolling my eyes but smiling.

"Well if you MUST go on an adventure across the country without me, take this." she says, handing me an old flip phone. "Just keep it off at all times unless it's an emergency. Camp Half-Blood is already on speed dial."

"Thanks, Annabeth." I say, giving her a hug.

"No problem, just IM me once you get to Gravity Springs."

"It's Gravity Falls."

"Whatever. Now you'd better hurry, it's almost noon." she says, shoving me out the door.

"Bye Annabeth!" I call.

I say goodbye to pretty much everyone I know and with one final sigh, I step foot outside the CHB border. I take one last look at Thalia's tree and think It's only one summer. I can do this.

A/N: Shoutout and thanks to my mystery twin sergiopines for the helpful criticism!
