Demigod Falls {Completed}

CH. 24

I wake up in my bed at Pacifica's house. My head is wrapped in bandages. I try to sit up, but a wave of nausea stops me.

"Ow..." I say. I notice my canteen of nectar on the bedside table, along with the flip phone Annabeth gave me and my baggie of ambrosia squares. Shakily, I bring the canteen to my lips and take a sip. The amber liquid tastes just like a strawberry milkshake. The kind my dad used to get me on special occasions, or to cheer me up. Instantly, I feel better.

I flip the phone open and see that someone had been calling camp.

Pacifica comes in looking relived.

"You're okay!"

"Yeah, I guess I am. Was anyone else hurt?"

"That's the weird thing-- no one else was hurt. You flew out the window. We looked for hours before a blonde boy showed us where you were. I think he said his name was William."

I freeze. That stupid Dorito planned this whole thing!? I'm going to have to kick his ass later.

"We didn't want to risk taking you to a hospital, since you're a demigod. So we called Camp Half-Blood. Some guy named Will Solace walked us through what to do. I'm glad you drank your nectar." she finishes.

I nod. The doorbell rings.

"That must be Dipper and Mabel. They'll be happy to know that you're conscious."

She opens the bedroom door, and there stand Dipper, Mabel, and-- BILL! Or William, I guess.

"Oh! Izzy, this is the guy that saved you." Says Pacifica.

"Heya, Carter!" He says, his fire-blue eyes flashing mischievously.

I sigh. "Hey B-- uh, William."

"You guys know each other?" Says Dipper skeptically.

"Uh--" I start.

"Yeah, from the orphanage." Says William coolly.

"Really? Izzy's never mentioned you." Says Dipper, with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, maybe it's because my friends and I were straight up cruel to her and Jeff." He says, faking an apologetic look. "Could you ever forgive me?"

I grit my teeth. "No harm done, Will."

"Great!" He says. "Maybe when you're better we can all hang out!"

"Sure." I say, holding back an eye roll.

"If you were in California, what are you doing in Oregon, William?" Asks Dipper.

"I came to stay with an old friend for a while." He says without missing a beat. Oh, he's good.

"Who's the friend?" Insists Dipper, clearly unconvinced.

"Would you look at the time, I have to go, see you!" William says before leaving the room.

"We'd better let you rest" says Mabel. "Come on, Dip."

"Okay. See you guys later." I say. Things are about to get interesting...
