"Walking" was an understatement. After hiking up a small paved mountain for an hour, we are at the Northwest Mansion. The gates are huge and black with the letters NW on the top. Mabel texts Pacifica to let her know we are here. Seconds later, the huge gates open and the most amazing front yard I've ever seen is revealed.

On the left side of the huge yard, there is a hedge in the shape of an "N". On the right side, there is a hedge in the shape of a "W". Peacocks run free among them. There is a magnificent fountain facing the front double doors, which open.

An elegant girl emerges. She has beautiful, long blond hair and striking blue eyes. She is wearing a lavender tank top, a purple skirt, purple flats, and purple eyeshadow. I automatically know who it is. It's Pacifica Northwest.

"PACIFICA!!!" screams Mabel as she runs to her. I watch my cousin get tackled like a football player.

"Hey, Mabel" says Pacifica. Her face was turning a shade similar to her whole outfit. "Can... You... Let... Go... For a sec?"

"Whoops! Sorry!" says Mabel. "I just REALLY missed you!"

"Nah! Really?" the sarcasm in her voice sounds familiar. I guess it runs in the family.

Pacifica turns to me. "You must be Isabelle. I'm Pacifica. And I see you've met Mabel. Sorry my parents couldn't be here, but as they mentioned, they won't be around much this Summer. They'll be back soon though. Let's get your bags to your room."

A butler that reminds me of Alfred from the Batman comics comes out of the house. He takes my bags and we follow him to my room.

My room is, well, just like everything else at the Northwest Mansion. Huge. It has elegant wallpaper and sunlight streams from the slightly open bay window. There is a king-sized bed with a canopy in the center of the room. A dresser with 4 drawers is in a corner, and a private bathroom is on the other side of the room. The wooden floors are shiny and polished. It's amazing.

"I know it's kind of big, but we can get some posters and stuff to make it more welcoming if you want." says Pacifica. "I know how it feels to have a room that's too... Perfect."

"That would be great" I say.

"I'm hungry. Let's get lunch at the Shack" says Mabel.

"Yes! I've been waiting for my parents to leave so I can have some real fun. Their idea of fun is croquet and mini-golf," says Pacifica with an eye roll. "Sometimes, I just wish I could be normal."

So far, Pacifica seems miserable. She sounds so alone. I make a mental note to change that. I am determined to make her Summer fun.

Pacifica guides us to a limo. "David, take us to the Mystery Shack." she says. We get in. David, the driver, starts the limo. I hear pop music playing. Mabel hums along to "Electric Love" and Pacifica laughs.

"The new mansion is just like your old one, Pacifica!" says Mabel after a bit.

"Thanks. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be a compliment, but I really hoped Dad would have had a smaller house built."

"Did ya miss me, Paz?" says Mabel with a smile that takes up her whole face.

"Yeah, May May. How's Dipper?"

"You know. Same old Dippy Fresh"

"Why do you guys keep calling him that?" I ask.

"You don't wanna know. It's a long story, and--" starts Pacifica.

"I have all Summer" I interrupt.

"Well... okay. You see..."
