Chapter 4 Hellfire In the Sky

Day 7 of training we just got back from a 15 mile run with our training instructor we are not even winded any more. I guess this training is really working to build up our stamina like they told us it would, but they won't let us change into vampire form for the run because that would give us too much of an advantage, and poor Hunter hasn't had his first shift yet so we would outrun him leaving him far behind, so we train in human form or as close to it without being real humans and being not able to use our speed or strength.

The place where we do our runs is just within the border of a 20 foot tall stone and razor sharp wire topped reinforce wall, it is 15 miles around with all kind of obstetrical like, fallen trees, boulders, streams, old buildings, landslides, every imaginable things you can come up with we have to run through, just to get the practice just in case we run into it in the real world.

As we are rounding the last turn the Hellfire alarm sounds, it is an alarm that only sounds when the training camp is under attack by vampires, werewolves, and mystical creatures. It sets off a hellfire storm above the entire camp to protect all that are within it's area. Looking up it looks like the sky is ablaze with sparks and lighting shooting every which way of colors of blue, red, green, white even, it is something to see but very scary knowing that at any minute there could be hundreds of attackers storming the camp we are in.

Our trainer sends us back to the barracks with strict orders not to set foot out of our barracks under any conditions till someone in charge comes in to do it. We turn and run back to the barracks, enter and what do we see upon entering but non other that Xandria. Xandria Linford the witch and my best friend sitting on my bunk reading my little blue book, it is sitting in her hand and she is relaxing against my headboard with my light on reading it as I walk up to her.

“Xandria what the hell are you doing here? Never mind that how did you get in here?” I ask my best friend that.

Xandria looks up with a smile on her face she greets me with a happy.”Hi Verena surprised to see me here?” I do a stunned double take so stunned I don't know what to say back my mouth fell open I am totally stunned to see her. “What's the matter Verena nothing to say that's not like you to be so quiet” She says to me as a statement of fact. I shake my head to get my stunned disbelief out of my head then I repeat what I fist asked her.

“Xandria what the hell are you doing here?” More of a shout than a statement. She just goes on grinning then a full on laughing begins from her.

“Verena you should really see your face right now you look so shocked and you eye are so red hell girl I can even see your fangs showing” Xandria said still chuckling. It was my time to start questioning her now this is getting ridiculous I can't believe she is really laying here on my bed reading my book non the less.

“How did you find us here, never mind that how did you even get past all the security set up in place here without being killed?” I asked her in disbelief that she was even here in the first place.

“I am a Witch, come on Verena you know that, what makes you think I couldn't track you down let alone get into this silly camp you are in undetected, I am the one that set of the stupid alarm to get you to come back here to see me.

I was getting bored reading this book, so you are a Princess/Protector and Hunter and Camden and your mates Protectors and Feeders? Interesting” Xandria stated. I looked down at her along with Hunter and Camden, by now none of use could believe what we heard coming out of her mouth.
