~ Kyle

Josh's family was definitely interesting. Kristina was a bubbly ball of energy, which was probably the best way I could describe her. It was a different type of energy than what Josh has, and she doesn't seem to embarrass as easily. With her long blonde hair and gray eyes, she looked just like Abbey.

Her sister, Alyssa, was probably the exact opposite of her. With short black hair, which may or may not be died - I wasn't about to ask - and brown eyes, she seemed to be on the more reserved side. From what little interaction I had with her, though, she seemed like a really nice girl.

Elliot, for a thirteen year old, was built pretty big, like a football player, which I later found out he actually played. But I was still taller than him, although I'm sure one day he might actually surpass Leo's height. He had the sweetest smile, even though his family has said he doesn't smile often, and I was glad that I was able to make him smile.

Overall, I definitely felt welcome into the Reynolds' home. Everything was going great, until Josh and I decided to head to bed. It wasn't that early yet, only Elliot had gone to bed so far. Alyssa was sitting with Kara, Abbey and us in the family room. Kristina had gone over to Justin's house to spend the night.

"I set up the guest bedroom for you, Kyle," Kara said as we were walking out of the room. "Josh, show him where it is, please?"

"But Mom," Josh whined. "Mama promised he could sleep in my room with me. Right, Kyle?" I didn't say anything, not wanting to get involved.

"I did say that, didn't I?" Abbey spoke up before my non-answer became awkward. "As long as there's no sex involved."

"Oh, Jesus," Alyssa said, standing up. "I do not want to hear this." Then, without another word, she left.

"We're not going to have sex, Mama! We just want to sleep together. Sleep in the same bed together. That's what I meant." He started blushing.

I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and he tucked his face into me, trying to hide himself for the moment. "If you want me to sleep in another room, then I will, I get it. Even though the last time I slept in a bed by myself was the last time I went home." I didn't realize how much that sounded like I was trying to guilt trip them until I saw their faces. "I am so sorry. I'm not trying to make you feel guilty. I don't even know why I said that. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, Kyle," Kara said. "You're both adults. I guess we can't really keep you separated if you don't want to be."

Josh quickly took a step back from me to look at his moms. "Really? Oh, thank you!" Then, Josh grabbed my hand and started pulling me out of the room.

I looked over my shoulder. "Goodnight!"

And, true to our word, Josh and I did not have sex. I wasn't very comfortable with the idea anyway, what with his room being right next to Elliot's. Just the whole idea that his family was here was a turn off.

Then Thursday was absolutely crazy.

Everyone was frantically cleaning the house, which I was roped into helping, not that I minded. They were doing so much for me, it was the least I could do.

By two in the afternoon, the house was cleaned and smelling like turkey. And all of the family had arrived.

Josh had asked his moms and siblings last night if we could keep the whole polygamous relationship on the down low, which I was totally fine with. It would be nice not to have to explain it over and over again to people who might not understand. Especially because when Josh said people probably wouldn't pay me as much attention as Kristina and Justin, he lied. Apparently, because Kristina and Justin have been together for so many years already, they all already knew him. I was the new person to this group, so of course, I was interrogated. Not that I minded too much, because Josh was by my side the whole time. Except when he went to go watch the football game. On every commercial break, he would come find me until Elliot called him back.
