Chapter 23

May sighs and flexes her wrist. She hadn't expected to have so many people wanting autographs and pictures, especially not from her, but they did. She looks over at N, he looked agitated as he continues to sign photos of himself and give them to fans. She felt bad, she was ambidextrous and she had hand cramps. Of course, he had used his hands to write in the last few months, she hadn't. He looks up, sees her staring, and smiles. May blushes and looks down. She hears Hongbin laugh and she blushes even redder. She feels N's hand on her thigh and she plays with it, inching her chair slightly closer to his.

"May?" Somebody asks, she just showed up in her line.

May sees a kid waiting for her and moves back to sign a photo. N's hand doesn't leave her thigh and she starts smiling to herself.

"Here you go," May tells the younger girl. The girl takes it but hesitates, "What's wrong?"

"How did you end up dating N?" The girl blurts in accented English, then covers her mouth.

"It's a long, boring story," May lies.

"Mother told me that when somebody says something is a long story it's really a short story they don't want to tell," the girl answers snappilly.

"You could say that," May responds patiently, "But to me it is a long story, the shortened version is, I meet him backstage at his concert, I went with him back to his house, and we kinda went from there."

"So you seduced him into loving you?" She whines.

"If I did, it wasn't intentional," May answers warily.

"I don't blame him, you're stunning. Your pictures didn't do you justice," the girl sighs, "Good luck."

She walks away and May slumps. She is so confused and doesn't know what to think. A banging headache starts and she massages her temples.

After the meet and greet, at dinner, N purposely sits in between Hyuk and May. Towards the end of the meal, while May is in the washroom, N leans over to Hyuk.

"Does Camille have all our abilities?" His voice unintentionally comes out as a snarl, Hyuk chokes on his water.

"How did you...?" Hyuk starts, N cuts him off.

"So it's true, she has our powers?" N is still snarling, now he's louder, the other boys turn their attention to him.

Hyuk looks uneasy, but he answers, "All of them except yours."

"What do you mean, all of them except mine?"

"She can mess with minds like Leo, understand languages like Hongbin, teleport, walk through solid objects, and heal abnormally fast," Hyuk answers quickly, "She said she can do all our powers except yours because you had your power before you became a vampire."

"Why does she have our powers, how did she get them?" N is almost shouting, leaning so close to Hyuk, the younger boy is forced to lean back. The lights in the room flicker. Leo pulls his friend back.

"N, calm down," Leo orders calmly, "Talk to him at home."

"I won't have time to, at home I have to take care of May!" He accidentally switches to English.

"May," Ken cries.

N spins and sees May standing there, a hurt look on her face. Without a word, she turns on her heel and runs out of the restaurant. N starts to go after her, but Ken stops him.
