Saved? -Kai

Your vision is blurry as you gain consciousness. Your back ached, and your head hurt too.. With your ears ringing, it was hard to concentrate on your surroundings.

You take a glance around, as your vision focuses and the ringing fades. With eyes widened, you noticed you were in a pitch black room, with a single light bulb dangling above you by a string. You were sat in a chair, tied up with chains. On the chains, were a symbol. A fire symbol, with an X through it.

Squinting, you read the print on it. ".. Fire.. Proof..?" You mutter to yourself.

"That's right." A female voice booms out of the silence and darkness. You shoot up, eyes locked with, who else, but Skylar.

"Wouldn't want you burning your way out, would we?" Skylar smiles slightly. "You may not be Kai's blood child... But.. Who knows. Maybe you get a bit of his powers by hanging around him so often..."

"Wh.. What are you gonna do with me..?" You ask, trying to keep your voice from cracking. Your dad always told you to stay brave, even when things looked bad...

It was hard. Especially without him around.

"Oh, nothing!" Skylar gasps. "You thought I was going to hurt you? Of course not!"

You look at her in confusion. "Th.. Then why did you capture me?.." You shrink down, feeling another presence in the room.

".. You're the bait." Skylar says softly, looking away. "... I didn't want to capture you. I was hoping one of the other ninjas would have come by.. But you're the easiest thing..."

"Woah woah, wait! Bait for what?!" You hiss "I demand answers!"

"Why.. For Kai, of course." An older voice chuckles.

You couldn't see him, but you knew it was him.

"Y.. You.. I thought the ninja..."

"Defeated me? Not even close." Chen cackled. (Was that his name? I can't remember. Don't hurt me.)

"Let me go! When my dad finds out where I am.. He's gonna kick your butt! So just give up now!" You growl.

Chen scoffs. "Oh, we made sure he'll find you... And trust me.. He isn't going to be kicking any butts today.."

Chen exits, you assume he's leaving to prepare some sort of trap.

"S-Skylar! Please! You have to let me go!" You plea, as Skylar glances your way. 

"You know I can't do that, honey." She whispers sweetly.

"B-But Kai-- he's your friend, isn't he? Possible love interest? Ring a bell?" You retaliate.

Skylar sighs. ".. Me and your dad have a bit of a history. But.. Nothing strong enough to turn down my father's deal..."

"Deal?" You tilt your head.

".. Well.. Since you won't be going anywhere soon.. I guess I can tell you." Skylar sighs. "Chen promised me ultimate power. We would be able to take the power from the ninja with his new master plan.. He would bestow it upon me, and I would be his right hand in ruling Ninjago."

"That's insane! You can't possibly think he'll go through with it!" You cry.

".. What other choice do I have." Skylar turns from you and returns to the shadows.
