Kiara
I walk through the plains to find Kovu. We still have some unfinished business to discuss. I found him at the waterhole drinking. Other animals are there too.
They greet, "Good morning, Princess Kiara!"
I nod. "Good morning!"
Kovu turn around seeing me walk forward. "Oh your back too. How was the tour?"
"It was good. Your sister and the lionesses enjoyed every bit of it."
"Good."
I sat beside Kovu. The animals move off to give us privacy.
"Kovu?"
"Yes?" He answer, his emerald green eyes staring down at me.
I bite my bottom lip. "We still have some left over things to talk about."
"Such as?"
"My pregnancy and marriage."
Kovu smacks himself on the forehead. "Dang it! I've forgotten all about that proposal. I'm so sorry Kiara...guess I been too busy patrolling with Simba."
I smirk. "You can ask now just to get it over with. No one is around. This is our chance!"
"But I don't have my lines prepared."
"It doesn't matter. Just talk about our love and why you chose me to become your wife that's it."
Kovu laughed, "Okay."
I smile watching him kneel down.
"Kiara our love has come a long way. It has grown stronger over these last couple of months. Nothing had came across our way. Not even our parents! Our love brought our prides close together as one. Bringing in joy and peace. I'd never thought that I could change. Change from a killer to lover. You've brought me to freedom. Freedom away from hell my mother. I now want to spend the rest of my whole life with you until death due us apart. Kiara in my eyes I see nothing but gorgeous. When you laugh it's like music in my ears and those eyes, man! Now your carrying our first cub. Being a parent is the most best gift ever to have. Once this cub is born, I'm going to make sure I'm always there in his/her life. I want them to have a father, something I never had experienced. But to sum this all up, all I'm trying to say is will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes!"
I pounce on Kovu happily causing him to fall on his back. I sweetly nuzzle him, "Yes, I'll marry you."
Kovu purrs and lick my cheek. "When should we tell the pride?"
"Tonight before bed."
"Okay."
Kovu place a paw on the side of my small pregnant belly. "Man, your mood swings and cravings are about to be so crazy."
I snuggle my face in his warm mane. "We'll just have to see. Your sister is going to be so happy I bet when she finds out that she's going to be an aunt soon."
"Yeah. She always had a soft thing for cubs. She'd be a good parent I think."
"Speaking of aunt, today I just found out that I have one now. Her name is Neera! She's my mother long lost sister."
Kovu nodded. "Oh yea, I met her earlier. Simba and I came across her while patrolling. She tried to attack Pumba and Timon for breakfast."
I laugh shaking my head. "Those two are always getting into something. Thank the great kings she didn't!"
"That's because your father stopped her right on cue."
"Of course."
RAWWWWR!!!
My ears twitch. "It's father, breakfast is ready. C'mon!"
Kovu and I both stand. We jog back to Pride Rock to join the pride for breakfast.
*********
"Man this hippo is so good!" Aunt Neera commented. "It's been a long while since I ate something like this."
"What's your favorite meal, aunt Neera?" Kion ask.
"Hippo and zebra. What about you?"
"Everything!"
We all laugh. My brother was always the humorous one.
"My favorite is a gazelle." Said father.
Mother nodded. "Yeah me too and antelope."
"I love a lot of meat so I'll have to go with hippo and elephant." Said Kovu.
We nod.
After breakfast, we all lay down to let our food digest. Aunt Neera shared a few stories with us more about her life.
"I will never forget the time when Simba had accidentally sat on a porky pine. Nala and I laughed so hard." Neera said, laughing.
Mother cover her mouth trying to hold in laughter. Father rolled his eyes.
"I still think you guys did that on purpose!"
"We still love you though!"
"My mother had spent the whole day safely pulling needles out of my butt."
"That's terrible." Said Mheetu.
"We were Cubs though and didn't know any better." Said Neera. "But it was still wrong."
"Did you guys get in trouble?" I ask.
"Yup! Our mother was angry that we would hurt the little Prince." Said mother.
Neera's mate "Jacob" who's also my uncle chuckled shaking his head. "Crazy." He said.
I'm really starting to like aunt Neera. She's funny and more wild than mother. Mother seems like the calm laid back sister. I look up at Kovu smiling. He winks at me then we return our focus on father who's sharing another childhood story.
