Croc Vs. Lion

Aala

"There they are!" My sister Bibi pointed.

"Let's get them!" I nod.

We both ran after a herd of Thompson gazelles. They were busying grazing on the soft green grass. I let out a loud roar which finally had got their attention. The gazelles start to make a quick run for it.

"We can't let them get away!" I told Bibi.

Bibi sped up her running but then came to a quick halt, causing me to crash behind her. We both fell on the ground.

Bibi rubbed her head. "Ouch!"

I stood up shaking my fur from any dirt. "Why did you stop?"

"Look, they're crossing over crocodile lake! It's too dangerous to follow. We could get killed if a crocodile spot us."

"The gazelles aren't hurt though. They made it across on the other side safely. We can do it!"

Bibi widen her eyes. "What?! Oh no, we are not about to-"

I roll my eyes while stepping inside of the water. "Come on Bibi, we'll be fine. Just swim fast!"

"We can always hunt something else Aala ya know?"

"Yeah, but I want gazelle today and I'm going to get one too."

I'm fully inside the water now floating above the surface waiting on Bibi to come.

"Your coming or not?"

Bibi looks around nervously and gulped.

I don't have time for this to wait, I'm hungry!

"Suit yourself! Don't come home asking for a share of my meal either."

"Whatever! You got to be insane swimming in a crocodiles territory. It's too dangerous."

I ignore Bibi. I seriously don't have time to hear her nagging voice. My stomach keeps growling, I need food now. I start swimming towards the other side of the lake. I'm halfway there.

I smile, "Almost there. Gazelles you will be mine!"

*GROWLING*

My ears twitch. "Huh?"

I stop swimming. I'm in the middle of the lake now.

"What was that?" Bibi yelled from across.

I shrug and yelled, "I don't know. Sounded like growling..."

*GROWL*

This time the growl got louder and more close. I start to feel nervous as my body tense up.

"Aala look out!"

"Huh?"

I turn around and right there I met eye to eye with an crocodile. I gasp as it opened up its wide jaws.

"Aala get out of there now!" Bibi shouts.

I quickly swam off with the crocodile following. More of them popped up from under water. I found myself surrounded with no other place to go.

I guess this is the end...

One tried attacking me first but I clawed at its eye. Then other tried. I hiss at them showing my sharp teeth.

I can't keep fighting off for long...

I look over to see if Bibi was still there. She's gone great! Now what am I going to do?

"Aala!" Someone called.

I look over to my right and see...

"Kion!" I smile wide.

Beside him is Bibi. The rest of the guard team showed up behind them.

Yes, I'm saved!

"Hold on Aala, Beshte and I are coming in!" Said Kion, stepping inside the water.

"Hurry!" I yell.

Beshte and Kion swam over. Kion distracted the crocodiles while Beshte the hippo came over to me.

"Quick Aala hop and hold on!" He said.

I climb on his back and held on carefully to not slip off. He swam me back to shore.

"Oh Aala your alive!" My sister Bibi says happily.

She pounce on me as I laugh. "Yeah, I'm okay!"

"Good job Beshte!" Fuli nodded.

Beshte smiles.

"Hey, where's Kion?" Bunga asks.

Ono flies up to the sky. "Hmm, I don't see him any where."

I got worried. "Oh no! Please tell me he's still alive."

"I'll go back in!" Said Beshte.

"No!" I told him. "It's too dangerous."

"Miss, I'm a guard. I've done rescues way more dangerous than this. I have to see if he's still in there. He may be under water!"

Fuli and Bunga gasp.

"Well, hurry before he drowns!" Said Fuli.

Beshte jumped back into the lake and dive under water to locate Kion.

Kion please be okay...

After a few minutes, we all heard splashing and coughing.

"There they are!" Ono pointed with his wing.

I smile wide. "He's alive!"

Kion is laying on Beshte's back all soaked and wet. Once they got safely on land Bibi, Fuli, and I help carry Kion off of Beshte and laid him on the ground.

Kion coughed some of the water out of his mouth and nostrils.

"Kion?" I call.

He stands slowly up and shook out his wet body.

"That was so awesome and brave Kion!" Bibi said, while jumping up and down like a small cub.

Bunga nodded. "Indeed it was. Good job buddy!"

Fuli frowned, "Don't ever scare us like that again!"

Kion chuckled. "Thanks and my bad!"

I look down at my paws shyly. "Heh, if it wasn't for you or Beshte I could have died today. Thanks!"

"No problem, it's what we do!" Said Beshte.

I hug him and Kion both as they smile.

"Come on everybody, let's go back to Pride Rock!" Said Ono.

We all follow behind him home.
