Simba

Next day, morning...

I pace back and forth at the very top of Pride Rock. Kovu reported to me the day before yesterday that there's a strange lioness in the Pride Lands hunting our food. Now today a male zebra tells me that she's hunting again. She's killing too many of his herd.

I shake my head. It's always a problem...

Kion and the rest of the guard team are busy spying the Out Lands, so I guess it's up to me to find this rouge. I was about to walk down Pride Rock until...

"Dad?"

I look over my shoulder and see my little daughter Maha. What is she doing up so early?

"Good morning, Maha! Why are you up so early? You should be sleeping still with the others." I say.

"I was." She nodded, "I heard you walking and couldn't help but to see where you went."

"I have some business to take care of. I'll be back later!"

"Awwwwn, but dad you promise to show me around the kingdom today!"

Maha lower her ears. I sigh feeling bad and walk up to her with a smile.

"When I come back home then I'll show you. Okay?"

"Okay."

I lick the top of her head. She purred giggling. I walk the rest of the way down Pride Rock into the grasslands.

Now, where are you rouge?

I sniff the air. A strange scent whip under my nose.

Ah ha!

I follow the scent to a low cave close by the waterhole.

Hmm, someone must be living here...

"Hello?"

No answer.

"Is someone there?"

Still no answer. I tried to be polite before barging in. Now I have no choice but to do so. I realize I am too big to fit inside the low cave, so I crouch down instead and peep my head inside.

Weird, no one is here...

I scan my red eyes around seeing nothing but old bones scattered everywhere.

This rouge is eating good I see...

Not for long though, I'm going to get to the bottom of this!

"Um excuse me, what exactly are you doing?" A voice asks behind me.

I take my head from out of the low cave and stand up. I turn around finding an angry lioness.

"Is this your home miss?" I ask.

"Kind of yeah. You have no right to be in there. Haven't you heard of privacy?"

"Haven't you heard that I am the King of these lands?"

The lioness didn't have any thing else to say but stand there with an dumb face expression.

"My name is King Simba. I've gotten reports from animals here and one of my pride members saying that they've spot a rouge hunting here. I assume that's you correct?"

The lioness bow finally showing me some respect. "I apologize your majesty for my rude actions. Yes, I have been hunting here. I haven't eaten in months I was desperate. Please understand!"

I growl. "You've been hunting and staying in my lands without permission!"

"I-I'm sorry!" She says frightened. "Look, I'll leave now if it makes things better. I didn't mean harm I was just-"

"Go."

The lioness quickly sprints off leaving the Pride Lands. She's lucky I was in a good mood this morning. I could of killed her right there. But I didn't. Hopefully she doesn't return. I start walking back to Pride Rock.

*******

"They're gone? What do you mean they're gone?!" A pride lioness asks.

"Vitani and Kopa are both gone." Said another pride lioness.

I walk behind Pride Rock where everyone is hanging out at.

"Hey everyone, what's going on?"

"Kovu's sister and that Kopa guy are gone." A lioness told me.

I raise a brow. "What?"

Kovu walks up to me with a growl. "They probably ran off together. He might be the one that told her to leave!"

"Now Kovu calm down. We've talked about this last night." Said Kiara, who joined her husband's side.

I stood there lost and confused. I have no idea what's going on. I've been so focused on my King duties that I haven't realize what's going on inside my pride.

"Kiara what seems to be the problem?" I ask my oldest daughter.

"Vitani Kovu's sister left the Pride Lands for good last night. Kopa apparently had left this morning a lioness claimed. Kovu thinks Kopa probably went to join her." She shortly explained.

"Oh I see."

"I still can't believe it. Like why would she leave her brother behind?" Kovu says, frowning.

I put my paw on his shoulder. "I understand how upset you are Kovu but maybe it's just for the best. You're both adults now. You have choices and she has her own."

"But Simba she's making a mistake!"

"And if so Kovu, let her learn from it. That's part of growing up! If she misses us she'll make a return."

Kovu looks down with a sigh. "I hope you're right."

I made a half smile. "Trust me."

"Alright."

Kiara gave Kovu a lick on the cheek while he chuckled.

Nala and the hunting party arrived with wildebeest for breakfast.

Time to dig in...
