Nala

"Grandma when is mama, daddy, grandpa, and Uncle Kion coming back home?"

"Hopefully sometime tonight. Now, go to bed little one. You need rest! It's been a rough evening I know."

Makosa, my grandson cuddled close beside my daughter Maha who's already curled in a ball sleeping at my side. I was told to baby sit until Simba, Kiara, And Kovu come back home. I never knew Kion had left with them too. That's what Makosa said.

I thought I told Kion to rest for a while...

I shake my head with a sigh. He never listens to me. I look down at the two cubs. A smile appear on my muzzle as I kiss them both on the head. I then look up at the cave's walls and close my teal colored eyes.

Heri please be alive...

Mufasa, Sarabi, watch over him if so...

I rest my head on top of paws drifting off to a quiet peaceful sleep.

Morning...

"Nala?"

I felt something nudge me. "Hmm?"

"We're back!"

I open my eyes seeing standing in front of me is my husband Simba. I quickly sat up anxious to know if Heri is found.

"Where's Heri?"

Simba looked down sadly. "Still no sign of him. We're trying hard Nala but I don't really know anymore. Those hyenas might of-"

I shook my head with a gasp. "No, please don't say that!"

"W-What's going on?" Asks a sleepy voice.

Simba and I both look at Makosa who's now waking up.

I force a happy smile. "Oh, nothing dear. Good morning!"

"Grandpa you're back!" Makosa says, getting up and pouncing on Simba.

Simba chuckled. "Hey sport!"

"Where's mom and dad? Did you guys find Heri yet??"

"No...we didn't. But we're going to keep looking today."

Makosa looked down. "He has to be out there..."

My smile went away. I felt so bad for Makosa. Even though him and Heri would argue, he still loves his big brother like no other. That was his first best friend.

"He is and we're going to find him too. Don't worry Makosa, everything is going to be okay. I promise!" Simba said, nuzzling him.

Makosa nodded with a small smile.

"The hunting party went to go hunt breakfast. They should be back shortly."

I nod and laid back down. Maha is still sleeping. Kovu and Kiara walk inside the cave. I notice Kion isn't with them.

"Good morning!" I greet.

"Good morning mother!"

Kiara walks over giving me a head bud. I head bud her back, "I am so sorry, I hope we find him soon. I'll help today and find someone to watch the Cubs. Maybe Timon and Pumbaa can!"

Simba nodded. "Yeah they can, I'll let them know."

"Dad!" Makosa beamed.

Makosa ran up to Kovh. Kovu chuckle and hug him. They may have one son missing but at least one is still here.

"I missed you and mom last night."

Kiara walked over joining her family licking Makosa on the head and smiling at Kovu. I know Kiara is taking it really hard right now. She's just trying to be strong for Makosa. I could only imagine how I would feel if something ever happened to Maha or even my oldest kids too. I'd be insane!

The hunting party arrived with Impala today. We all feasted and afterwards groomed ourselves. Next it was time to go find Heri. Simba went to fetch Timon and Pumba so they can baby sit Maha and Makosa while we're gone.

"Thanks Timon!" I smile.

"No problem Nala! Pumba and I got this under control." Timon says, with his thumb up.

Makosa and Maha groan.

"Behave." I told them.

"We will!" They say in unison.

With that, I left out the cave meeting up with Simba and the others outside.

"Where are we looking first?" Kiara asks.

"Let's check by the waterhole one more time and near the borders." Said Simba.

We all nod.

"We should go in teams. Nala with me, Kiara with Kovu. Nala and I go to the waterhole, you guys check near the borders."

Kovu nodded. "Okay!"

We all went our separate directions.

Heri please be some where close and safe...
