Chapter 7

No one understood him. He wanted to be understood, no one knew what it was like to be not loved back by the one you loved the most. Yes, it may sound cheesy but it was the truth.

All Linc wanted was Alice, he spent half of his life with her. She was his childhood friend and he knew that it was suppose to blossom to something more. But no, Daniel had to come into the picture and take her away from him.

"Linc?" Jane's voice interrupted his thoughts, he frowned.

What did she want?

he thought.

"Yeah, come in." he said and took out a book to make himself look busy. Jane got inside and sighed at his useless attempt to brush her off. She was doing a favor to her best-friend and she knew that Alice can strike up a deal.

Alice had the purest hearts, she can still the beauty despite the ugliness.

"How are you?" Jane asked, a little bit tired, Linc noted. He frowned and looked at Jane, there were evident dark circles around her now dull blue eyes.

"I'm fine." he answered, "You don't look great, baby." he said and rose from his bed.

Jane just waved it off, "Just some stress from school." she said absent-mindedly, "I'm actually here to ask something from you, no it's not asking, it's more of a favor."

Linc frowned, something inside him was sinking. He doesn't like the sound of Jane asking him a favor.

"Sure, anything, baby." he said and placed a kiss on her lips, to his surprise she didn't respond, "Everthing okay?"

"I want you to turn yourself in, Linc." she said, with no emotion at all. She looked up to Linc's shocked face and sighed, "I know everything, Linc."

"Know what?"

"Stop with the act!" she screamed, "It's not helping your case. Just tell Mr. Steele who gave you the drugs and turn yourself in!"

"I can't do that, Jane." Linc said, "She'll kill me if I did."

"Who?" Jane pressed, she needed the name for Alice. For Danny. For Linc. For herself, "Who will kill you if you tell the name?"

"No. I can't tell you her name. She'll kill me. She's crazy, I tell you." he said and glared at Jane, "Who put you up to this? Is it Danny?"

"No." Jane panicked, "Why would Danny put me up, he doesn't even remember anything."

"He doesn't remember anything?" The color drained from Linc's face.

"Danny is suffering from amnesia." Jane said and saw the horror in Linc's eyes.

No. Danny can't be suffering from amnesia. Alice would kill him if she knew everything. It would blow his chance to get her.

Jane knew what was running in Linc's mind so she decided to push her luck, "Linc, Alice is torn and really depressed from what happened to Danny. He can't remember her and it's tearing her apart."

Okay, she exaggarated. But it was the only way to get Linc to spill out.

What she didn't expect is the hard slap on the cheek Linc gave her. Sure, he hurt her before but not like this. She clutched on her cheek and tried her best to stop the tears that threatened to fall down.

Linc looked at Jane with no remorse. She deserved it. She was forcing him to give the name of the one who gave him the drug. He couldn't do that. She was crazy and she will surely kill him of he said her name to anyone.
