Chapter 1

There was a loud scream. Two voices.

He couldn't remember whose voice was that but he knew that it was an important event of his life.

He was in darkness. Not aware of the time passing by, not aware of what was happening around him. He spent what felt like minutes wandering around this darkness. Sometimes he caught himself shouting if there was anybody with him at this enigmatic darkness.

Then he saw a light, not blinding though. There were voices again, this time a male voice.

"I think he's waking up." it said, he looked at the other side and saw the light starting to intensify, it was like inviting him.

He shook his head and fought to open his eyes, to follow the male voice.

As his eyes open, a face of a man with dark brown hair smile at him, "Hey, kiddo." He had a pair of coal black eyes.

He frowned and let his eyes adjust to the lights. Where was he? he thought. His throat felt dry, he looked around and his frowned deepened.

"You're at the hospital, buddy." The male voice said, that's when a guy with gray hair walked in. Clipboard in his arms and a nurse following him.

"Good evening, Mr. Thorn." then he turned to him, "Good evening, Daniel."

He frowned, the name felt familiar. Was that his name? He couldn't remember.

The nurse handed him a cup with a straw, he sipped on the straw and felt that cool liquid slide down his dry throat. Once he swallowed the doctor fired questions.

"Do you know where you are?" he asked while flashing a little flashlight at his pupils.

"I'm at the hospital." he said calmly.

"Do you know your full name?" he thought of it, then the information slipped into him.

"Daniel Thorn." he answered.

The doctor nodded. He continued asking questions, like does he remember how he got to the hospital.

But all he wanted to do is sleep. Let the darkness engulf him again. When the doctor asked questions to him that he doesn't remember, the doctor frowned and scribble something on that clipboard.

"Mr. Thorn, I will need to talk to you in a moment. In the meantime, you can rest, Daniel." he nodded and the guy named Mr. Thorn left.

He tried to remember who he was but he really can't. There was a big void in his brain that just couldn't remember.

He clutched his head and felt a rough bandage wrapped around his forehead.

The door flung open and a girl with dark blonde hair grinned at him, "Danny!" she exclaimed.

She had the most beautiful deep green eyes. he tried to remember who she was but as always he came up with no answer.

She pressed him in a hard hug. Enthusiastic that Daniel have finally woken up. She spent days biting her nails and worrying if Danny was still going to wake up.

When she pulled away, she noticed the frown on his face, "Are you okay? Did I hurt you or anything?"

Daniel shook his head and continued to stare at her. Who is she? he asked himself. Was she someone important to him?

The doctor walked in and smiled at the girl, "Why, hello Alice. How are you?"

"I'm fine, Dr. Walts." she replied with a smile on her face. A beautiful smile, he thought.
