Prologue

The night was deep now. Streets are dark. A few vehicles were at the road, except for the sleek black Hyundai Elantra that was being driven by Lincoln Waters. It was his father's graduation gift to him.

Finally, he thought. Some freedom and responsibility of having a car. He was so happy when his father have him the keys.

He wanted to brag about it to his friends, so he drove to the small diner at the end of town, where his group of friends usually hang out at this time.

He let the speed take over him. The exhilirating feeling of the freedom as he zoomed around. He was fast but he still kept low on the speed. The last thing he needed is spending the money he wants to treat his friends with by paying a ticket for overspeeding.

He slowed down when he got to the diner and saw his friends at their usual place, laughing and eating. He removed the keys from the ignition and got off the car, a few of his friends saw him and pointed at him.

He smiled and gave a small wave to them. He got inside and the series of shouts and greet at him echoed through the diner.

"Linc!" a blonde shouted, she was short and curvy. She stood up from her seat and ran to Linc, launching herself and wrapping her short legs around him.

"Hey, baby." he said and kissed her on the lips, when she pulled away her bright blue eyes glittered with such love.

Jane Rome was Linc's long term girlfriend and they are going strong by the day.

Though their personalities are the complete opposite, their friends still love the two of them.

"Nice wheels, Linc." Alice called out. He grinned and tossed her the keys.

Alice Steele is one of the brightest in their group. She's also the most loved, most especially by Daniel Thorn.

Alice caught the keys and jangled them, studying the brand of the new car that Linc brought over. It was a Hyundai Elantra, a sexy car.

"Isn't this a girl's car, Linc?" Daniel asked taking the keys from his girlfriend.

Linc sat down beside him and glared, "Shut up, Danny."

They all laughed. Linc called over Polly and begged for some alcohol.

"No, Lincoln. You know beer is not good for you." she said, "I'll get you all a Dr. Pepper."

Linc groaned and pouted a bit, Jane leaned forward and kissed him, "Stop being such a baby, Linc. Polly's right."

"Plus, I doubt you're going to let us drive your new toy so it's best that you stay sober. You can give us all a lift." Alice suggested.

Linc sighed and agreed. He wanted to drink, though. It was a good thing that he brought something that can make him more excited.

When Polly brought their drink, they chatted away. Alice and Jane where in a heated argument about which theme for Prom would be best, while Danny was busy texting his mother and Alice's mom that they were about to go home any minute.

Linc watched them. Sure he wanted to give them a lift, but he was getting edgy and really anxious. He noticed that none of them were really much paying attention to him so he slipped in his drink the little blue tablet and let it sink.

"Linc, finish up your drink, we need to go home." Danny said and turned to Alice, "Your mom is looking for you. They feel nervous, even my mom. Don't know why."

"Their mothers, it's normal." Jane said and turned to Linc, "You want help with that, baby?"

"Nah. I'll finish it off." he said then gulped down the drink.
