Chapter 20

Jane watched the warehouse door from the bush, her knees were starting to give out. She's been squatting behind the bush for almost an hour and Linc is still inside.

Linc managed to convince her to go with him and save Alice. They planned that he would get her and they would all leave, but he's been there for too long.

Jane was starting to get worried, she saw Sasha and two men walk in and that's when she knew that they were in deep trouble.

Another man walked in, but she didn't saw who it was.

"Come on, Linc." she whispered.

Another ten minutes passed, Jane can't feel her legs. She stood up and sneaked to the warehouse door where she could hear properly what was happening inside.

She turned her head and saw that the door wasn't properly closed. She inclined her head and tried to look inside.

Alice was tied up and there are six man and one girl there. No Linc.

"How can you be my half-brother?" Alice asked, looking at the guy with disbelief.

"Well, Dad, Edgar, got my mom pregnant during college. Mom said it was a wild party and it was just a one night stand, by the time she found out that she was pregnant, Ed already graduated and on his way to the other side of the world.

"She carried me and raised me. She found someone to take care of her and I treated as my father, but then the guy was harsh to me and kept on talking shit to me. I asked Mom and then she told me everything and I started to look for Ed. Found him here, married and had a really beautiful five year old girl with dark blonde hair and emerald eyes." he smiled and patted Alice's hair, but Alice flinched away.

Linc looked at what was happening and saw that Jane was clearly visible at the door. He swore under his breath and tried to think.

He blew out a breath and stepped out of the room, Rutherford was the first one to see him.

"Rookie, what are you doing here?" he asked, all eyes snap to Linc. Even Jane's.

"I want you to let her go, Einstein." Linc said, the guy claiming to be Alice's brother stood up and raised an eyebrow and looked at Sasha.

"You know this kid?" he asked.

Sasha rolled her eyes, "Unfortunately." she muttered, "Why am I going to do that, Lincoln? I thought you were on my side?"

Linc tried not to glare at Sasha, "I was. But you betrayed me. All of us."

Rutherford drew his gun but Sasha smirked and stopped him, "What is he talking about?"

"Yeah, Linc, what are you talking about?" Sasha said.

Linc looked around and saw that Mercury was sending him some warning looks. Shakespeare just avoided his gaze, Plato wasn't even paying attention to what was happening and Beethoven was looking bored.

"I know all of your plans." Linc started, "That's why you made all the cars like, same plate number, same models. You wanted to ditch the others."

Rutherford looked at Sasha, "Is that true?"

"She wanted to keep the money all to herself. Once she completed the exchange she would keep the money and let the cops take you all." Linc finished.

Rutherford snapped his head to Sasha, "Is that true?" he repeated, "Were you planning to double-cross us?"

"Well, I was but that's not important now." Sasha said and smiled, "What's important is to get rid of pests."

Everything happened so fast, they all didn't got the time to react properly. Sasha snatched the gun from Rutherford's hands and pointed it to Linc. She was about to pull the trigger when a flash of canary yellow skirted her eyesight.

A loud bang resonated around the warehouse. Linc held on tightly to Alice, engulfing her in a protective hug. The guy who was her brother was not far enough. Rutherford, Mercury, Plato, Beethoven, and Shakespeare looked at a stunned Sasha.

There on the floor was a heap of a body, crowned with bright blonde hair. Wearing a yellow dress that stopped right above the knee.

Linc turned his head when he felt that he was unharmed, he saw Jane on the floor, not moving.

"JANE!" he shouted and rushed to her side, "Somebody call an ambulance!" he pleaded.

Alice's brother took his phone and dialled 911, Linc pushed all the stray hairs and looked at Jane. Her dress was stained with blood, her face deathly pale.

"Jane, baby, open your eyes." he pleaded, "Please, baby, open it. I'm right here." he whispered.

Jane's eyes fluttered open, her once bright blue eyes were now dull and near to lifeless, she forced herself to smile a little but found no energy to do so, "I never thought I would get shot this day." she croaked out.

"Shh, everything's going to be alright." he said, "You're going to be okay. Just don't die." there were tears flowing down Linc's face now. He didn't care if everyone can see him crying, he could care less.

The loud sirens were now heard, Sasha looked frantic around. When she tried to run, she was held on the waist by Rutherford, held on the arms by Plato and Beethoven.

Mercury moved closer to Jane and Linc, "Linc, let me check her." he said, Linc trusted the man. He studied medicine before joining Sasha's group.

Mercury looked at Jane's vital and instantly knew that her liver was heavily damaged. A group of EMTs walked in and took Jane, Mercury told them her condition. Linc followed behind, forgetting about Alice who was still bound by the wrist.

Alice's brother sighed and raked his hands through his hair, he walked to Alice who was as pale as Jane, she didn't utter a word.

Shock was an understatement. There goes her bestfriend, wheeled into an ambulance with her childhood friend in tow. The one who shot her was stuggling against three men.

"Are you okay?" her brother asked her, she turned her head and saw the concern in his gray eyes. She nodded and then let the feelings burst from her.

He cut the rope on her wrist, when she was free, she launched herself to him and held on tightly. Like he was her lifeline. He carried her and let her legs wrap around his waist, he looked at Shakespeare who had a grim look on his face.

"I'm going to call the team." he said and put his wrist near his mouth, "Send five units here at Toledo Warehouse near the edge of the town."

Shakespeare looked at the guy who was holding Alice, "I'll take her back home. She's pretty shaken." he said.

Shakespeare nodded, "Good job, Teddy."

~~~
So, it's been a while. I'm deeply sorry for it because my school started and I got a bit of hung up.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! :DDD Here's Chapter 20 for you guys. Oooh, Teddy, can you imagine who he is?
Well, I have Ian Somerhalder in my mind but you can pick whoever you want. :)
So, Teddy is Alice's half-brother.
Wait a minute, Shakespear? Or should I say Sam is part of the cops? Hmmm. A bit confusing. :DDD
Anyway, I'm proud to say that I'm finished writing Memorizing You in my laptop and I will upload it continuously in Wattpad. Well, not really done, I'm still thinking about putting an Epilogue.
I'll just see what happens. :)
