Chapter 10
Alice readjusted the beanie that settled on her head for the tenth time and raised her balled fist to the door, giving it three short raps. Mrs. Thorn answered and grinned at her.
"Sweetie, you're a bit early. Danny is having a crisis on what to wear, could you wait for him a bit?" she asked Alice.
Alice only nodded and stifled a giggle at their current situation.
Just two years ago, Danny was the one who showed up early while Alice was still in her undies having the most panicked time of her life because she couldn't find her other earring.
Alice walked around the living room. She noticed that they put down a lot of pictures of her and Danny. She didn't need to wonder why.
Having a room full of pictures with persons you don't know will just piss him off, but one caught her attention.
It was the cracked picture of her and Danny on their trip to Atlantic City. It was a one week trip with his parents. They were visiting his uncle at the special home.
They only went with them to visit the uncle, they toured around the city and had fun. It was also the day that Alice learned about Danny's deepest fears of heights.
She was amazed, the fact that their first date was a ride on the ferris wheel. He overcame his fear just to be with her.
"Hey." the deep voice called out, she turned around and grinned instantly.
Danny was wearing some gray t-shirt with a scarf that she gave to him at his sixteenth birthday. He was also wearing black jeans and white high tops.
"You look really hot." Alice teased, Danny scoffed and studied her.
She was wearing a white t-shirt under a black cardigan. Her faded gray skinny jeans was tucked under a dark gray leather boots that went up to her calf. A beanie was resting on her dark blonde hair.
"Same goes for you." he said and saw the hint of pink on her cheeks.
He was glad that he had that effect on her. He never knew that even though he forgot this girl she could still be flattered with his sweet compliments.
Danny said his goodbye to his parents and saw Alice do the same, when they walked out he saw a shiny white Toyota Vios.
"That's your car?" Danny asked.
"It's my Dad's. He let me borrow it for the day, I also had it washed and waxed just this morning." Alice grinned. She knew that Danny loved shiny cars. Any kind of cars as long as their sparkly.
"Neat." Danny said and rushed to it, running his fingers across the side and grinning.
"Come on, we have a lot to cover." Alice said and walked to the driver's seat, she saw Danny made no move to go in, "What's the matter?"
"You're not being a gentle-lady, Alice. Seeing that you're the one who asked me out, you should open the car door for me." he smirked at her, leaning his arm at the roof of the car.
Alice narrowed her eyes at him, "Well, you still love me so suck it up, baby." she said without thinking. She was too caught up in their teasing that the words just slipped out of her.
Danny was stunned to hear those, it actually took his two full minutes to get over it and just climbed on. Alice was oblivious to his shock because she just smiled and drove off.
"So, what are we going to do?" Danny asked.
"Well, first on the list is to go to the lake house by the woods. It's not that deep in the forest, but deep enough to hide the lake and have some privacy." Alice said.
