Epilogue

Alice placed a long white stemmed lily above the gravestone, saying a silent prayer to her best friend. She wiped a lone tear that managed to escape from the corner of her eye.

"Why do you always do this to me, Jane? You always make me cry." Alice said aloud, laughing a bit as she wipe her tears with her handkerchief.

"Al!" a deep voice called out, she turned her head and saw Ted waving towards her, she waved back. She meet him halfway, he pulled her in a hug and squeezed her a little harder, "How's my favorite sister?"

Alice rolled her eyes, "I'm your only sister, Teddy." she said and pulled away from him, he looked at the grave and sighed.

"A year." he whispered, "It's been a year since we first met." he looked at Alice who nodded and grinned at him.

"Well, are you going to take me home and let me meet your fiancee or I'm just gonna stand here until it snows?" she asked, Ted chuckled and led her to his car.

A year has passed and a lot has changed. She did went to Watson College but dropped out after two months and transferred to Yale. Alice wanted to take up Law but her heart melted for English Literature.

Ted found a girl right after Alice left and they got steady. He proposed to her two weeks ago and Alice can't help but give in to his invitation to meet her. Ellie has been good for Ted, keeping him in leash and out of trouble.

Edgar agreed to get his phobia properly diagnosed and is now cured. He doesn't have anxiety attacks whenever he finds the house empty, Ellen still leaves notes all over the house whenever she goes out.

Linc went to Watson College and studied Education, he wanted to be a teacher. Though, Alice wanted him to find someone, he never did. She thinks that, Jane was the only one he'll ever love.

"Ali, it's finally nice to formally meet you." Ellie said as she open the door, Ted rolled his eyes while his lips were pursed.

"Sure, greet my sister first, I am your future husband." he grumbled and went in the small house they bought for themselves, just four blocks from Edgar's house.

Alice and Ellie laughed at him, then Ellie turned to her, "Where's Danny?" she asked.

"Busy." Alice said quickly, actually she didn't know where Danny was. The last time she talked to him was three weeks ago and he's been AWOL. She got worried at first but she knew that Danny would eventually show up when he wants too.

Alice walked into the house and removed her coat, "So, when's the big day?" she asked immediately."

"We were thinking of doing it during the summer but Ted here thinks that it's too convenient for others." Ellie glared at the man who was lounging at the couch with a bottle of water in his hand.

"Well, if they really care about us, they'd make an effort to come." he said and gave Ellie a cheeky smile.

"So, when will it be?"

"August 28th." Ellie said excitedly, "Everything has been set and all the needed things are done. Just the dresses and the actual wedding."

Alice looked at her watch and noticed that it will be only a month away, "That's great." she said and looked up at Ted, he had a frown on his face, "I'll be there."

"Of course, you'll be there." Ellie said, "I have decided to pick you as my maid of honor." she clapped her hands, "I do apologize that it took me long to say it but I was choosing between you or my best friend."

"What happened to her?"

"It's classic." Ted commented, "Apparently, the best friend is sleeping with one of the groomsmen who happened to be Ellie's little brother. The best friend is an alleged slut-"
