Chapter 3

Jane pursed her lips as she looks at Linc, peaceful in sleeping at the bed of the hospital. He's been brushing her off since he got in an accident. He snapped at her a lot of times, she thought it was just the meds but no, he was really mad at her.

She didn't know what she did to get him so mad, it was his fault that they got in an accident. He thinks she didn't see what he did. Slipping a drug in his drink, she knew that Linc has been hanging around the wrong group few days before the accident.

She tried to talk to him about it but he only changes the subject and she didn't want to press. She also knew that Linc could be in big problem if the authorities knew about what he did.

Linc stirred in his sleep and Jane was beside him, he didn't want her. He was dreaming about Alice and he wanted Alice.

"Alice." he mumbled, Jane frowned and sighed. He's been having dreams about her best-friend, she didn't know how to take it. So far, she got it all figured out now.

Linc wanted Alice, but Alice was dating Daniel. Linc wanted to get Alice's attention that's why he hang around the junkies at the school, he was edgy and decided to hit while he got the chance. He drove at the wrong time at the wrong place, the truck showed up and BAM.

Now Danny was suffering his selfishness. Jane wondered how Linc will take it if he found out that Danny has amnesia.

She knew that Alice would hate Linc because of it. But Jane was willing to protect Linc, she loves him.

Linc stirred again and finally woke, he opened his eyes and saw Jane staring at him intently, "Jane, what brings you here?" he asked. Like I have to ask, he thought.

"Nothing, I was just thinking what it's like to be the reason why two people can't have a really wonderful relationship." she said, slightly smirking when Linc's hand shook.

"What are you talking about?" Linc asked, Jane shook her head and grinned at him, making him let out a breath of relief.

"Want some cookies?" she asked instead, Linc nodded his head and gave Jane a forced smile.

Alice took in a deep breath and raised her hand, then she dropped it to her side. God, she was feeling like she's on her first date.

You can do this Alice. You're strong,

she said to herself and raised her fist again and made three quick raps.

A faint 'Come in' sounded inside and she opened the door. She was given the sight of Danny frowning infront of a laptop, a few framed picture scattered on his bed.

He was thinking intently what he and Alice was doing on the picture. He didn't have a clue on what the occassion was, Alice had some paint on her face while he was chasing her with a paint-tainted finger.

He felt so sad when he couldn't figure out, when he looked up to his visitor he smiled instantly at the sight of Alice. Maybe she can help me, since she's with me at this picture, he thought.

"Hey." he said, Alice smiled at him and moved forward. He remembered what he did lat night and felt embarassed, "Sorry about last night, I was just..." he trailed off.

"It's okay." she said.

But he really wanted to explain himself, "It's just that I really missed you, you didn't visit me since the day I first woke up."

She laughed, he frowned at her and found himself grinning.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked.
