Chapter 9
Alice called Danny's phone for the seventh time. To say she was excited was an understatement. She had been looking forward to this day since she opened her eyes Wednesday morning.
It was a bit weird, though. When Alice woke up, Jane wasn't on her bed. She walked out of the bedroom and saw Jane, in her jeans and sweater, lying uncomfortably at the couch.
When Alice woke her up, she said that she needed to some air last night. Alice broke out into an hour long lecture of how dangerous the streets are at night.
"Come on, Danny. Pick up." Alice mumbled as she bite her nails, it was her lunch time and she's hiding at the bathroom stall.
Jane had specifically told her to stop calling him in between classes because she might get caught and had to spend torturing hours at detention.
"Hello?" his deep voice answered and Alice grinned instantly.
"Danny!" she exclaimed, "Have they sent you home?"
"Yeah, I just finished unpacking my things." he lied, it was a half lie. He was truly at home now, but he had already done packing two hours ago.
He was just scared to answer the phone and speak to her.
He was still unsure about the wanting the memory back issue. He talked to his father but he only gave a vague advice, choose whatever makes you happy.
"Okay, I'll pick you up at your place in two and a half hour, is that okay with you?" Alice asked.
"Yeah, that would be perfect." Danny said, a smile easily made it's way to his face.
That normally happens when he talks to Alice. She just had this aura that makes you want to smile even though you can't see her at all.
"Okay, see you later." she said then hung up.
Danny blew out a breath and tried to think of efficient ways to waste two and a half hours.

Jane was still mulling over what she heard last night. She was sure enough that the guy and the girl that walked out of the hospital were part of some gang. And Linc was their new kid.
Alice noticed her distant gaze, she snapped her fingers infront of Jane and saw her blink out of her trance, "Are you sure you're okay? You've been like that since yesterday morning."
Jane only nodded and opened her binder, she looked at her list of assignments and was glad that she had done all her homeworks ahead of time.
"I think I'm going to head to home early and take a rest." Jane said gathering her stuffs.
It was a benefit in being a senior with prom only two days away. They could leave school early and search out of their dresses.
"Okay, call me when you get home okay?" Alice said looking at Jane with worry.
"Don't worry about me." Jane said and smiled at Alice, "Are you sure you're not going to prom? It won't be the same without you." Jane slightly pouted.
Now that she and Linc are over, a lot of guys asked Jane to prom. The lucky guy was Wesley Braden, the president of the Literary Club and a real hottie.
Jane had been friends with him since fifth grade but cut all ties when they entered freshmen year because that's when Linc came into picture.
"The school won't notice that I'm not even there." Alice said and grinned, "Plus, you've got your hands loaded with Mr. Literary."
