today someone said I was crazy
when I told them I didn't like to sleep.
"How can you not like sleep?"
Well, you tell me:
Do you collapse from your thoughts?
Do you fight away monsters at night?
Do you cry and scream and twist inside?
I thought not.
It's not that I don't like sleep,
it's that I don't like being more alone
than I already am
and I don't want to be awake
where my mind can attack me
because I am not ready for that
torture each night.
