Fish

I have a blue beta fish

He's quite new to this terrain

I keep him in a gallon bowl

Where he's free to swim and sing

I have a glass bowl

With river pebbles on the ground

It keeps my fish from spilling out

And seeing what's around

My fishy's bubble looks quite clean

But that's cause I wash it out

I keep him safe and happy

And clean his world each week.

I wish I lived in a fishbowl

Safe from toxic waste

I wish I could wash out my mind

From my demons and migraines.

But I cannot clean this fishbowl

My gills are clogging up

I think things that push my beliefs

I begin to loosen up.
