Chapter 27

Jodi

Even as he apologized and explained everything, all I heard was lost.

We were lost and to top it all our tires were flat. Even if we hike our way to Mckendrick Prep we were lost and we don't know which way to go. We'll never make it to the interviews now. Our date is ruined.

"How could we be lost?!" I started complaining when we got out the car. He was carrying a spare tire out the trunk, but it wasnt enough. We had four flat tires. In which I have no idea how that could have happenned.

"I thought you knew the way? And flat tires? We only have one spare and no gas station for miles. Caleb how could you lead us here?!"

"Could you just shut up?!" He yelled followed by the sound of the tire falling to the ground, I almost flinched.

"Jodi-" he said more gentle "-I just wanted us to have the best date ever. I never knew this would happen or how it happened and you know I don't do well with maps."

I agreed with a soft laugh, remembering that time in geography where he couldn't even find where Canada was. In the end he got tangled up in the classroom map, no one knew how but he just did. Everyone laughed that time and I helped him get tangled out then we got tangled together. I remember blushing feverishly as our lips crashed for a split second. Our classmates sang the kissing in the tree song but I don't think anybody really saw that plus me and Caleb silently agreed on not talking about it but I know I saw heather glare, at that time I didnt know why, now I do.

That was the moment when I knew that this wasn't a simple crush anymore. I was really falling in love with him.

"I'm sorry" I said finally after the silence. He hugged me "I just wanted our first date to be perfect."

"And it will be" He pulled out the flat tires and arranged it like a table set up. He even had a blanket as our table cloth and some paper plates, sandwhiches and juice packs for lunch.

I smiled at his effort and without thinking I grabbed him and done what should have been done a long time ago. I just kissed him.

At first it was just a smack in the lips; quick, sweet and nice. Until he grabbed me by my waist and started kissing me again, this time more passionate, our lips started dancing to a rythm only we knew.

My hands were in his hair, his hands on my waist. I wasnt even embarrassed to say it went on for about 2 minutes until someone honked their horn at us.

We rushed for air after the kiss and we were just staring at each other, all goggley eyed. Not even bothering to look at a random person who could either help or possibly kill us in the middle of nowhere.

He hugged me and wispered "I love you" in my ear. Something that sent shivers down my spine. I did the same "I love you too" and hoped it would have the same effect on him as it did with me.

"Ehem?!" The man finally spoke up after parking his car. He didnt look as old as I expected him to be. He was probably in his early twenties, he wore nerd glasses but had a fair body type. We broke away from the hug.

"Erm.. Hi?" Caleb greeted "Youre not here to kill us are you?" I face palmed.

"Dont give him any ideas Caleb" I whispered. He just looked at us like a couple of kids who got lost in the middle of the desert. Oh wait... We are.

"Um sir?" I couldnt take the awkward silence and the dead eye he was giving us. So it was best to speak... I think.

"Sorry. Hi. I'm Doug and no I'm not here to kill you, actually I went here for a hike"

"To where?" Jodi asked.

"Lana Lake Mountain"

"So were not lost?!" I couldnt contain my happiness. Yes! I done somethimg right.

"Uh. if thats where youre going then no"

Jodi jumped into my arms, guess she was as happy as I was.

We grabbed our bags, our food and blankets and followed Doug up the mountain.

In the first 5 minutes we walked up the mountain I already felt tired. I did not think this through.

"Tired, love?" She asked me.

"We'll be there in 35 minutes. But if you wanna rest it will take more than that. So I suggest both of you hurry. I got a date waiting up there" Doug was right, I have to keep going for Jodi.

"Okay" She helped me up, her red streaks unmistakably shining as the sun hits her hair. She looked perfect. "Wimp" she teased.

"Race ya!" We both sprinted and even Doug, who looked like he was unfit for any physical sports joined in and we were there before we knew it. Jodi came first and of course I was last.

It frustrated me to get beat by a girl but at the same time I was also proud of her but the frustration lingers. I guess its normal for us boys who are naturally competitive.

When we reached the top Doug introduced us to his girlfriend Evie who had curly blue hair. After a few chats we both went to our separate ways. Doug and Evie setting up their tent for the day while me and Jodi changed as we dipped in the cool lake.
"Mmmm... the water is so wonderful here" she was wearing black shorts on top of her swimsuit that made her look all kinds of wonderful.

"And so is you" I answer back but something was bothering me today "Um jodi?" She swam closer to me "Can we... uhm. Talk about earlier... before Doug"

"Oh right."

"Was it okay?" Her face scrunched and I started to worry "Was my breath bad? Or did I bite your lip or was I a horrible kisser??"

She started to giggle and because of the emptiness of the place it echoed.

"Caleb. Stop being so worried... Our kiss was... amazing. The first one I had... I mean. The first real one."

"Me too" we both blushed and I realized I had been holding her steady in the water for a while.

We leaned in again for another kiss. This time our kiss was gentle and short like butterfly kisses on the lips and I couldnt ask for anything else.

"Oh my gosh are you guys even decent?!" We both let go and look where the voice came from.

Who was it???? One person who gave me the idea might already know who so dont go spoiling people. Haha. Not mentioning any names though. wink wink 😉

Ooohhh and also Doug and Evie! Theyre here hahaha just a cameo. I just love them in descendants. They are so cute. I'm thinking of maybe making a fan fic for them but no promises.

Omg. Haha I had to steal time to update. Weeeee. This chapter took me all night but I hope you guys like it. :)
