"But... that's impossible. My family died. I never had a brother either... I was an only child." I explained confused.
"Laurel. I ran away when I was 7. I'm 7 years older than you. I got away before you were born." Parker said.
I stared at him confused.
"I'm here to take you home." He said.
"No. No you can't!" I yelled. Tears welled up in my eyes.
"Yes. You have to come with me." He demanded.
"No! Brendon and Sarah are my family now! Not you! You were clearly never there for me therefore, you're not family!" I shouted with tears now streaming down my cheeks.
"And they are?" He asked gesturing to Sarah and the guys.
"Actually yes! They cared enough about me to want me in their lives!" I argued.
"Well too bad. Come on!" He yelled grabbing my wrist and yanking me out of the bus.
"Brendon! No!" I cried helplessly trying to grab for his hand. He tried grabbing mine too but we couldn't reach. It was too late.
Parker put me over his shoulder and began running.
I saw Brendon running trying to save me too. Dallon, Kenny, Dan, and Sarah followed him.
"Help!" I screamed.
Parker threw me into his car and shut the doors. I was sobbing now. He began driving and I looked out of the back window.
Brendon was still running. He really does love me. And I love him. I'm not letting this bastard ruin my life. Not today.
Anger bubbled inside of me. It wasn't sadness anymore. Just pure anger. Parker was NOT going to take me away from my family. He left me when I was young so why should I want to go with him? I began breathing heavily and my hands curled into fists. I began screaming and jumped out of my seat to cover Parker's eyes with my hands. He began swerving wildly.
Parker shoved me off of him. I looked out the window again. Brendon was standing there helplessly and out of breath along with the rest of the gang.
"I love you too Brendon." I mumbled. Angry tears streamed down my cheeks. I can't believe this is happening.
I stared at Parker with pure hatred in my eyes.
"Now that you've settled down, I think we should get to know each other Laur. I never officially got to know you." He said chuckling.
"So how was it being a foster kid?" He asked. "It was probably better than being a runaway." He stated.
I kept staring at him with nothing but hate in my eyes. I wasn't talking to this monster.
"Come on Laur. I'm great. You'll love me eventually." He said.
"No I won't. You left me, dad, and mom! Maybe if you were there, you could've actually saved them from dying! You're one sick bastard!" I screamed.
"Whoa chill with the language." Parker said.
"No I won't! I am Laurel fucking Urie now! Being a Forrester is in my past and you will never ever be family to me!" I yelled.
"You listen here young lady! You do not swear as long as you're with me! I will punish you and lock you in your new room when we get home if you do it again!" He argued.
"It's better than being with you!" I shot back.
"Motherfucker!" I yelled on purpose, smirking a bit.
"Okay! I warned you!" He yelled.
"Okay, now let me warn you. If you seriously think you're getting away with this, you're lying to yourself! Brendon will find me!" I shouted.
"Mmmm. Does he really love you that much? Will he really come and save you?" He questioned.
"More than you ever will." I said with my voice cracking a bit.
It was no use trying. I just put my head on the door and cried to myself to sleep.
I felt someone carrying me and being put onto a bed. I heard a door slam and lock. It was probably Brendon. He was probably going to a show and I was sleeping so I didn't go. I opened my eyes and it wasn't. I prayed that this was all a dream. I pinched myself multiple times. But sadly, that wasn't the case. I needed to have a plan. It can't happen this way. I layed in bed pondering. Okay so I had to be in California still. My brother couldn't have driven that far in such a short period of time. But where in California?.. I was thinking and thinking. I looked on the ground and bags were there too. Parker must've packed them before I came back from the interview.
"Come on Laurel. You're smart. Think." I whispered to myself. Nothing came to me. It's okay. I'll do this. It isn't nighttime yet. I still had my phone though. I had it in my pocket so he must've not seen it. Yes! I checked the time. The band was performing at 8:00pm and it was only 11:00am. They leave immediately after they get onto the bus when the concert is over is over so I have about 11 hours to think of something. I heard the doorknob start to move so I hid my phone and pretended to sleep. I felt a hand shake me. I opened my eyes.
"Hey sleepyhead. There's lunch downstairs if you want it." Parker said.
Thank God. I'm starving.
"Okay." I said smiling.
He smiled back. Ugh. He's sick... But at least I'm a good actress. I followed him downstairs and went to the kitchen. He put a cheeseburger on my plate and some fries.
I ate quickly and then ran back upstairs.
"Laur where ya going?" Parker asked.
"I'm unpacking! I mean, if this is where I'm living, I might as well get everything organized!" I responded.
"Alright. Come on down when you're done! We're going to a movie at 5:30!" He hollered back.
"Okay!" I answered.
Perfect. He'll take me to the movies and I can escape there. Parker trusts me now too. This is a perfect plan. Tonight, I'm reuniting with my family.
Brendon's POV
I can't believe it. I let my Laurel slip through my fingers just like that. I'll find her. I have hope, I'll find her. Parker's going to pay and once I find her, he's gonna get a piece of me. I wonder if she has her phone with her though. Hopefully he didn't take it. But Laurel is MY daughter, the apple of my eye. I've never felt closer to anyone in my life. She's one of my best friends, I can't let one of my best friends just leave my life. But Laurel's smart. I'm sure she has a plan. I turned around to look at Sarah and the guys. Sarah looked heartbroken. I put my arm around her and kissed her cheek. We walked back to the bus.
"Sarah. We'll find her. I know we will." I said confidently.
"Brendon, she could be anywhere. What makes you think we'll find her?" Sarah asked me.
"Look, I'm not losing hope now. Laurel needs me and I need her. We're going to find her." I replied.
"Okay. I trust you." She said trying to smile through her sadness.
I'm finding Laurel. No matter what it takes.
