Bright lights emitted from the tall skyscrapers in the large city in the heart of Japan. The city was broad, glowing brightly, illuminating the night sky, and leaving a hue of color among the clouds. Two clans stood on a widespread rooftop; one red and one blue.
"We don't have to do this again, Suoh." The blue king, Reisi Munakata said to his daring opponent. The other chuckled, a raspy and deep yet carefree sound.
"If you didn't get in our way, no we wouldn't." The red king replied, his clan standing proudly behind him.
"Let's try and resolve this is a calm manor, for once, violence should be the last resort." Munakata tried to reason with Suoh.
"Nope, afraid I can't do that." The red king smirked and placed his hands in his coat pockets, a cigarette hung loosely between his lips. The blue king gave him a disapproving yet longing look, one that was almost like he was pleading with the hot-tempered fool.
"What are we going to do Mikoto?" Izumo; the red clan's second in command asked casually, Mikoto's smirk fell into a frown as he uttered his famous words.
"Burn them."
And with that, auras of red and blue lit up the night and flashed throughout the darkness. Swords clashed with fists and bats; the raw punk-like style of HOMRA competing with the orderly and sophisticated members of SCEPTOR 4.
Though the battle seemed to be full of hateful energy, it also gave off a playful vibe. As if the clans really had no intention of causing each other any harm despite their rough actions.
Meanwhile, on a different rooftop, stood two other members of HOMRA; these were the two that didn't fight.
"See Anna, the kings are just greeting each other." A young male spoke cheerfully, a smile gracing his soft features.
"Tatara, I know they are fighting." Anna replied, her long white hair dancing in the wind. Tatara laughed and shook his head,
"Well yeah, but even so, I feel like the kings are speaking through their swords," his single earring on his left ear shining when it caught a light. Anna looked up at him and let a small smile creep upon her face.
Yes, they were violent, sometimes ruthless and reckless but that was the exterior that held together the soft hearts underneath. The red clan was full of good people that made up her loyal family.

(Anna's POV)
I sat at the bar's counter, sipping on a drink beside Mikoto. I watched as Izumo cleaned yet another one of his fancy glasses. The whole vibe in the bar was calm and collected; everyone was lounging around or engaging in light conversation, laughing at something here and there. Tatara was sure to keep the mood upbeat and happy, running around to different people, stirring up jokes and asking multiple questions about different things.
The bell above the door at the entranced jingled happily, letting everyone know someone had arrived.
He wandered over to a seat beside me and dropped his skateboard In front of him, his chestnut hair sticking out messily from underneath his black beanie.
"Hey Yata, how does it look out there?" Izumo asked from across the room.
"Nothing unusual to report, everything seems fine." He shrugged, using his arms as a pillow and laying his head on the counter. Noticing his quiet mood, Tatara bounced over to him energetically and lifted up Yata's head with his hands.
"What's the matter? You're not as obnoxious as usual."
Yata slapped his hands away and scowled. "I'm just bored! There's nothing to do."
"Sure there is!" Tatara replied, picking up the skateboard from the floor and heading to the center of the room. I turned around in my chair, curious as to what he was going to do. I looked over at Mikoto, his lovely red surrounding his being. I sighed and leaned my head against his arm.
"You alright, Anna?" he asked glancing down at me.
I merely nodded. Mikoto knew that meant I was fine and he also decided to watch the chaos between his clansmen.
A loud thud echoed throughout the bar as Tatara ended up on the floor, with the skateboard rolling away from him. Everyone began to laugh at him, an embarrassed blush spread across his cheeks.
"Here, let me show you how to do it." Yata smirked, recovering from the laughter and helping out his friend.
I looked around at each and every face, taking in the warmth that was easily recognizable in the room. Yes, they were violent, sometimes ruthless and reckless but that was the exterior that held together the soft hearts underneath. The red clan is full of good people that make up our family.

(Third Person)
Silence had taken over the bar; its once energetic and cheerful vibe was burnt out, much like an overexerted flame. Nobody dared make any jokes; there was no laughter, no talkative mood and no Tatara Totsuka. Everyone was grieving; the light in the atmosphere was diminished after losing him. Though what the clansmen were most concerned about was the deadly silence from their king. He hadn't spoken, he just lounged around the bar, spending most of his time in his room, he wore an angry frown all the time as though he was contemplating something constantly. He knew that at this moment in time, his clan would follow him loyally, no matter the orders he gave. Anna clung to his side as always, but she could sense this tension unlike the others, she knew, the king wanted revenge.
As the fog in the air grew, Izumo continued to polish his favorite glasses, but he didn't smile. Yata laid on the old couch in the backroom, staring blankly at the screen projecting home videos, tears settled at the corners of his eyes. Bando, Akagi, Chitose, Eric and the rest of the clan all took time away from each other to try and make peace with Totsuka's death. Rikio stopped eating and never tried to keep Yata calm when he went out on a sorrowful rampage.
Mikoto noticed this change among HOMRA and started to despise it with a passion. His family was beginning to fall apart and he wouldn't allow that. So he got up from his bed and stormed down to the others; ready to propose a long-awaited plan.
...
"We hunt down Tatara's killer?" Izumo asked once Mikoto told everyone his ideas.
"Yeah." He mumbled, a familiar playful anger filling his eyes.
"Let's do it." Everyone turned towards the voice, Yata stood there, surrounded by his aura of flames. His fists clenched tightly. The clansmen looked at each other, they knew the consequences, was it really so worth it? The room was filled with anxious emotion.
"We have to do something! We can't just let Tatara die in vain!" Yata yelled angrily. "Are we members of HOMRA or aren't we?!" They all stood quiet for a moment, afraid to make the wrong move.
"No blood..." Rikio started, speaking up above eveybody's nervous chatter.
"No bone!" Some others joined in. The fog started to clear.
"No ash!" Everyone cheered. Anna looked over at Mikoto and was proud to see a small smile upon his face; she then glanced excitedly at her family,
Yes, they were violent, sometimes ruthless and reckless but that was the exterior that held together the soft hearts underneath. The red clan was full of good people that made up her loyal family.
