~ Yata's POV ~
The rain repeatedly hit the glass window, each drop running down its frame and dripping off the edge. Grey clouds covered the sky, hiding the afternoon sun. I watched, following every detail closely. The rest of Homra got to go out on a mission, but I had to stay here for Anna's sake. I claimed that I would be the one to protect her and I guess that pulled me away from all the action.
Izumo stood behind the bar as usual, cleaning wine glasses that already sparkled. Anna sat beside me on the couch as I empathetically stared at the gloomy weather.
"Misaki, you can go." She said suddenly, catching my attention. I looked over at her, my hazel orbs widened. She had a small smile on her face, glimpsing at me from the corner of her eye.
"B-but, I have to stay here, don't I?" I turned away from the window and faced my King. She shook her head, her white hair slightly covering her face.
"You want to be out there, you are the captain of our front lines aren't you? You're not a babysitter." Anna chuckled. I stood up from the couch, grabbing my skateboard that was leaning against the frame of the door.
"Well if you insist." I smirked, waving at her. She waved back.
"Stay safe."
"We're counting on you, Yata." Izumo waved at me as I opened the door; the sound of the rain filling the bar.
"You got it." I smiled, jumping on my board and taking off down the street. The rain instantly started soaking into my clothing and it sent a chill through my bones. Thunder rumbled above me, making surrounding buildings shiver, it let me know just how exposed to the storm I was.
I smiled at the feeling, the rain was comfortable, and it calmed the adrenaline coursing through my veins.
I lifted my arm up to my face, hitting a few buttons on my watch. Soon a little picture of Shohei popped up and I heard ringing.
"Hey, Yata." His cheerful voice echoed through the small speakers.
"Where are you guys and what's your status?" I asked, skipping to the point.
"We're over by Scepter 4's HQ; that little park nearby. We're doing great." Shohei chuckled.
"Alright, see you soon." I replied, pressing the end button and pushing myself forward.
"The blues." I muttered, turning onto another street. Lightening lit up the area behind me, making me grin.
"Bring it on then."
...
I stopped where the pavement met grass, kicking up my skateboard and grabbing it, tucking it securely under my arm. Red and blue flames lit up the sky, adding the missing color to the grey clouds. I watched as Rikio threw a blue to the ground and yelled curses at him before sending a stream of fire towards him.
"Poor bastard" I thought to myself, walking into the field. Rikio saw me and ran over.
"Hey! Maybe you want to take care of those guys over there." He laughed awkwardly, grabbing my shoulders and turning my body in a different direction.
"Why? What's over there?" I asked, hitting his hands away.
"W-well, um..." He scratched his head nervously, moving to the side slowly so I could see, and what I did see made my blood boil. My gaze hardened and my aura instantly surrounded my being. The fire covered my image of him, making him look fuzzy; I dropped my skateboard and ran over to him. The wet grass seeping into my sneakers and whipping my skin, his back was turned to me and so, I took advantage of that. I jumped into the air, swinging my fist towards him. He spun around at the last moment and caught my hand, grabbing onto my wrist and pulling me to the ground so that he was hovering over me.
