~ Reader's POV ~
I sighed deeply, watching as my breath formed into a small cloud from the cold. My clan and I stood on the other end of the bridge, connecting the road to Ashinaka High school, which the Red's had currently taken control of. Honestly though, what were they trying to do? The innocent students had nothing to do with this whole ordeal and now they're being dragged into it because Homra only knows how to deal with things through violence.
"(L/N), the captain needs you." Himori called to me, motioning towards the truck where Munakata was waiting.
Among the clan, I was third in power, next to Fushimi and Awashima. I loved my position, I was agile and smart and I worked hard to get there.
I hopped onto the truck and knocked on the back door, a muffled "Come in" was heard, and so I opened the door and closed it carefully behind me. When I turned around I saw the other two already here and waiting.
"You called for me, sir." I bowed curtly to him.
"Yes, I would like to explain the plan to the three of you first." Munakata smiled at us knowingly.
We all exchanged looks, but never dared to question his reasoning.
"I want you to lead the attack, head in before everyone else, and confront Homra."
I felt my body tense and I swallowed nervously; that was a very bold suggestion. Yes, we were the most experienced members of Scepter 4, but only us against all of them?
"Sir, if I may interrupt; why only the three of us?" Fushimi spoke up, voicing my thoughts.
"Yes, doesn't that seem a bit impulsive?" Awashima added.
Munakata chuckled, "Maybe so, but trust your King. I assure you, it will work out."
We all bowed to him and headed towards the door.
"Get into position and wait for my signal." He called after us.
...
"This is insane." Fushimi muttered, clicking his tongue.
"I'll agree with you there." I sighed, running my fingers through my (H/L), (H/C) hair, before tying it up in a tight ponytail.
Awashima just sighed, closing her eyes. "We must have faith in our King, he knows what he's doing."
Maybe that was true, but we had our doubts, what if he didn't? If something went wrong we were probably done for and I felt as if we all knew that.
"Advance."
The stern tone of voice said through our communication devices. Static coated the word.
The clansmen guarding the gate opened the border for us to pass through, and we began to run; now it was survival of the fittest.
(Time Skip)
I laid on the icy pavement, watching the clouds pass by, and feeling the crisp flakes of snow land on my warm skin. I was Warm, thankfully meaning I was still alive, but I could feel myself weakening, as I could no longer move. I could just wait, wait for another red to find me and finish me off, or wait for help that would most likely never come. It had been a few hours and after our feeble battle with Homra, no other back up entered the school grounds. I don't know if the others got away, but I hope they did. I placed my shaking hand over my wound and pressed down, trying to suppress the bleeding. I had been stabbed in the stomach and slashed in my limbs; I didn't know how long I had left. I felt a thick substance rising in my throat and with the strength I had left, I rolled onto my side into a puddle of my own blood and started coughing up more. My breathing slowed as I now stared at the tree line off in the distance, my sword was laying just beyond my reach, but there was no point in trying to retrieve it now.
