Love

(A/N): Sorry for it being short, I felt like writing something little. By the way, this is my personal opinion; I hope I don't offend anyone or anything. Enjoy (:

~ Third person POV ~

Nothing leaves such a sickening taste in my mouth except for that one perception. It's like whenever I'm near it, a tidal wave of despair sweeps its cold waves over my heart, making me shiver, I want to rid myself of that feeling, because love is blind, love is distraught, and most of all it's fucking dumb.

To some, the thought of dedicating your own heart to someone else is pitiful; you were somehow given a life for your own. Why toss it into the hands of another? In the end, no matter how close you are, you can never truly trust somebody that much. That's how our world is; you never know someone else's motives and that's sad.

Love is painful, why sacrifice yourself to it? You get trampled on over and over again, for what? A feeling; a chemical in your brain hardwired to our emotions, to put it plainly, it gives nothing worth fighting for. As humans, we seem to be naturally drawn to it for a reason, I cannot understand. Why were we set up for this? Is it meant to be more.

At least this is what they thought as they walked down the city streets, watching from afar. The person they loved was with another, laughing and smiling together.

They watched as he brought her into the Homra bar, the place where they thought they had belonged. Tears pricked at the corners of their eyes,

"What a useless thing..." they thought, turning to walk away as the snow began to fall. Little did they know, their lover was watching them too, warm and cozy inside the bar, his eyes followed them down the street, pain evident in his heart.

But they would never know, they would continue to feel this way for a long while, until the next. The tears fell as they headed towards the outskirts of town.

There was nothing left for them there.

At least...not anymore.
