~ Reader's POV ~

It was a normal summer day, the sun beat down on the city streets, and there was a light breeze, providing comfort for the heat. People were busily walking about in the heart of downtown; which in my case was a very big problem.

"Excuse me!" "Pardon me!" "I'm sorry!" I yelled constantly, ducking around crowds and shoving past irritated people.

A couple members of Homra were hot on my trail, if they caught me I was surely done for. I had stolen one of the strain's marbles, a source of her power. I had no use for the thing, if anything I wanted nothing more than peace among that clan, but I worked for a different gang, they wanted to destroy the red clan, it was their biggest threat. Now, I didn't exactly agree to work for them, it was more forced. They killed the only family I had left when I was younger and now to keep my own life, I had to do their dirty work. They barely cared for me, I got food every few days if I worked hard enough for it, all I had to wear was a pair of dirty black jeans, a torn, baggy blue t-shirt and my favorite black hat that my father got me before he died. I always wore it to keep my hair back, it made me look like a boy, but I didn't exactly mind, it was easier that way.

Back to my current scenario, I frantically turned onto a side street with less people, my legs were killing me, but I forced them to keep moving, I couldn't afford to take a break. I whipped my head every which way, looking for an escape of some kind, but I noticed that the farther I ran; a member of Homra was blocking every open exit. My heart sank as I watched the road ahead of me follow into a dead end. I slowed to a stop, and instantly started looking for some way out, ignoring the pain in my legs and my stomach. I panted heavily, trying to catch my breath. I clutched the little marble tightly in my sweaty hand. If I lost this, I wouldn't eat for a week. I turned around and faced the two who had gained on me; I balled my hands into fists and watched them closely.

"We found him!" One of them yelled to the others.

Wait, him? My mouth dropped open slightly; they thought I was a guy.

"Hand it over."

I swallowed nervously and backed up until I hit the wall, I couldn't.

"N-no. I-I can't." I stuttered.

"You can't or won't?" He questioned, smirking playfully.

"Both..." I said quietly, looking anywhere but at him.

"Come on Kosuke, just wait for the others."

I looked up at the sound of the other's voice. He didn't sound violent at all, and it didn't look it either. He wore a light blue hoodie and had the hood pulled over his hair, though blonde bangs escaped from it and covered his eyes a bit. His eyes were a crystal blue.

"Yeah okay." Kosuke responded.

And so, we stood in silence, waiting for the rest of the clan to arrive. The atmosphere was awkward; I didn't know what I could say to make things better. I kind of wanted to ask them for help, they definitely had power over the gang who controlled me, but I highly doubted they would believe me now. After a few more minutes, I heard footsteps getting closer to where we were, my heart started racing, and my hands shook, but my thoughts were calm and I knew what I could do. I was dead either way; I might as well try to say something.

"Hey, um, I-I'm really not in the position to ask for this, but I need...help."

They both looked at me, confusion evident on their faces.

"Help?" The blonde asked me, taking a few steps closer. If I could, I pressed my back closer against the wall. I could see the other members getting closer and among them was their king.
