~ Reader's POV~
It was a wintry evening in the city tonight. The colored lights reflected off the dark midnight clouds and the air was crisp and cold. Masses of people, mainly consisting of couples, happily strolled down the streets, all bundled up in winter jackets and scarves.
The Homra bar was still open though despite the hour, and I had been left in charge while Izumo went out to the "Supermarket".
Honestly, I knew he had gone out on a job because the clansmen weren't here either. It was just Anna and I.
Surprisingly though, there were actually a few costumers for once, usually the bar was always empty, nobody dared to bother us, even if we were a capable business. I guess the people here now were newcomers, but they would learn soon enough. They always did.
Anna sat on a barstool; I had made her a fancy non-alcoholic drink that she was cheerfully enjoying, but she would look up and smile at me once and a while.
I was simply managing the bar, making and serving drinks and making sure the clean glasses sparkled. Oh, and also protecting Izumo's precious bar from any drunken idiots.
I had my gaze directed towards the glass I was cleaning when out of the corner of my eye I noticed a hand tap on the bar counter, trying to gain my attention. I looked up with a blank expression and saw a middle-aged man, dressed in black from head to toe with a scruffy face. He had a scar over his left eye and a menacing smile on his chapped lips.
I had to admit, if I wasn't a member of Homra, I would be a little scared right now.
"Are you (F/n) (L/n)?" he asked me.
I tipped my head upwards, staring him down with a glare.
"And what if I said I am?"
"Then you're Kusanagi's girl right?" he chuckled dryly.
Okay, I was officially on edge; relationships are private, so how did he know? Unless of course, he had business with Izumo, then I understood.
"Doesn't concern you." I replied, keeping my voice in a monotone.
"I think you'll find it does."
I reached over to grab an empty glass off the counter when his filthy hand clamped around my wrist. I felt anger swell in my chest.
"Let go of me."
"I wonder how tough he would be when he finds out his girl was touched by another man."
"I won't ask again." The anger began to rise.
"Come on, sweetheart. Let's take this outside."
I sighed deeply, truly and utterly annoyed by the situation.
"I warned you."
With one swift movement, my arm that he had been holding had broken free of his grasp and was now tightly holding onto his arm. I smirked and twisted it, hearing the bone snap underneath the pressure.
He let out a deathly scream and tried to pull himself away from me.
"Do not mess with us, do you hear me?" I whispered, keeping my voice low so that the surrounding spectators couldn't hear me. Not that they would care anyways, half of them had already ran for the door at the sound of the man's scream.
"W-what are you?!" he cried.
I laughed, show people true strength and they assume you're some kind of monster.
