~ Your POV ~
Dear brother,
It's been about a year now. Going so long without you has impacted us incredibly. The bar has a different atmosphere; it's colder than it once was. Everybody seems tougher and we rarely go out alone, in fear that somebody else could be lost. We still have good times where we laugh and smile, but it only lasts for a period of time.
In terms of good news, we found your killer...he's gone, Mikoto killed him. It was a daring act, if you ask me, far from heroic because he took a beating himself. His Sword of Damocles is falling apart; he only has a limited amount of time left.
We aren't sure what to do exactly; some of the clansmen have already left, saying they don't want to watch while our king slowly expires. We stay in contact, but you'd understand that it's not the same. Aren't we supposed to be family after all?
Anyways, I guess we're having a game night, so I'll talk to you later, Tatara. I love you.
(Y/N).
I closed the cover of the journal and tucked the pen into the coils. I placed it on the table beside the large couch and stood up from the spot I had occupied. I turned off the projector that was showing old clips of HOMRA's good days and folded up the blanket I used.
"(Y/N)! Come on!" Yata yelled from the other room.
"I'm coming!" I yelled back. I brushed out the wrinkles in my clothes and headed to the bar; closing the backroom door after me.
"So, what game are we playing?" I turned around and saw that nobody was around the bar was completely empty. Adding to that, all the lights were off, leaving me in the dark.
"Guys?" I advanced farther into the room. I pulled my hands into my (F/C) hoodie sleeves.
"Hellooo?" I echoed, glancing around. I heard a rustle near the couch, I spun around to that direction; the curtains on the window were moving as if something had brushed past them. I stepped back a bit.
"You're it!" Shohei yelled, slapping me on the back. I jumped in surprise and stumbled forward at the impact.
"What-" the lights flipped on and everybody crawled out of their hiding places, laughing.
"We're playing tag." Bando smiled.
"Hooray!" Chitose yelled, flailing his arms.
"Tch, real mature." I muttered, but I couldn't keep the smile off my face. These guys...
I started running, and it was funny to watch them scatter. I would run after one person and then instantly switch to someone else, we played it for a few hours surprisingly. I think we all needed some childish aura around here.
At one point, I was chasing Kosuke, I was closing in on him and I reached out my hand to grab him but he instantly switched direction. I gasped, I couldn't slow myself down and I crashed straight into the back of my king. Yet he didn't even budge. He turned around and looked down at me, that emotionless face covering his features. I gulped,
"S-sorry." I went to continue the game, taking off to run another way when he grabbed my arm. I glimpsed back at him,
"Mikoto?" He said nothing, but pulled me roughly towards him, causing me to collide with his chest. I felt my face heat up instantly; there was no space what so ever between us and I was holding on to him for dear life.
