~ Your POV ~

The sun shone down brightly on me as I strolled around the streets of the city. Skipping classes seemed like a great idea, and it really was, until I grew bored and had nothing to do, which leads to the alternative; walking around aimlessly. I decided to take a short cut through a small alley to get to the other side quicker. As I walked I felt as if someone was watching me. I know, it sounds cliché, but it became very uncomfortable. I picked up the pace and almost made it to the end of the alley, but somebody jumped down from a nearby roof and blocked my path.

"What's a little girl like you doing here?' he asked, his voice sent shivers down my spine; he gave me the creeps and was making me angry. I sighed and placed my hands behind my head,

"Okay, one, I'm clearly not little, two, it's a freaking alley buddy, its open to the public and three, its none of your fucking business."

His face was hidden behind a green and black mask, but I could tell that my words had irked him.

"Don't be smart with me." He growled, pulling a gun from his pocket. I was a little scared, but I still held myself together and smiled.

"Its not up to you what I do." I replied, irritation evident in my voice.

"Bitch," he mumbled before aiming at me and pulling the trigger. Time slowed down for me, I jumped, but the bullet was fast. It pierced my shoulder. I yelled and crashed onto the ground with a thud, my head hitting the dirty pavement. I gripped my shoulder tightly and winced at the amount of sticky blood pouring through my fingers. My vision became blurry and my ears began to ring. The guy laughed and waltzed away from me, sticking the gun in his pocket. I tried to move, but every time I did the pain in my head intensified along with its side effects and the blood wouldn't stop, by now it had coated my shirt and leaked onto the pavement. I felt myself on the verge of consciousness and I couldn't help but think; weird. Weird that this happened to me of all people, I mean sure, it wasn't that bad, I probably could get through it. But I just never expected it to happen to me.

I watched wearily as people walked past the alley on the sidewalk, not to far from me, but nobody bothered to look into the dark little crevice. I focused on my breathing, clenching my wound tighter, trying to regain my lost senses.

My breath caught in my throat as I saw a group of people enter the alley, for all I knew they could be more bad guys; but my need for help overcame those thoughts. I used all my remaining strength to pull myself into the center of alley so that the group could notice me.

"Hey! There's somebody lying there!" one of the members shouted, a couple of people ran over to me and kneeled down.

"H-help m-me" I stuttered weakly.

"Oh man, she's injured!" someone else shouted.

"Well Mikoto, should we help?"

"Take her back to the bar." A deep voice caught my ears.

I felt my body being lifted and a wave of relief wash over me. I was going to be fine. I glanced at the person carrying me through lidded eyes. He had light brown hair peaking out from behind his hat and hood, dark sunglasses shielded his eyes and he had a light smile on his face.

"Hello, hang in there, alright?" he said sweetly. I relaxed and let my head rest against him. My eyes closed but before I lost consciousness, a thought popped into my head,

'Red.'

...

"How do you think that happened?" a distant voice reached my ears.
