~ Reader's POV ~
Ever since I was a kid, I remember being by my brother's side. He was never the friendly type, so most kids typically stayed away from us, including the ludicrous school bullies who came after me. They didn't dare confront me whenever he was with me.
Considering that, I wasn't usually on my own. Even when he joined a gang, I didn't walk away. Soon after he was strong enough to withstand the power of becoming the infamous Red King, and still, I stood with him. Our parents died in a car accident when I was still a baby, Mikoto remembers it, but I don't, so I never had a problem with missing our parents because I never knew them. I had a family though, and they were Homra. It had been ten years since we first ran into Izumo and Tatara. I was now sixteen, I attended high school regularly and I had a decent friend group, but whenever I wasn't out, you could still find me with Mikoto.
Growing up with a brother like mine had its faults, I was a nice person, but if you pissed me off, there was to be trouble. I usually got into fights with people at school, resulting in the principal calling the bar. Nothing really came out of it though; Homra was all about fighting after all. Sometimes Mikoto got a little mad, not wanting me to be expelled. However, I had multiple suspensions and I spent a lot of my free time in detention. I really hated school; I found it to be irrelevant to me personally. I guess that's why I got in a fair share of fights; I was trying to make my time there interesting. I didn't want to get in an argument with my brother today, after an incident we had a few days ago, I decided that I didn't want to bother him with my bad tendencies any longer. So, I managed to cover up my new black eye with some powder, the rest of my cuts and bruises could be covered by clothing. You should have seen the other guy.
I chuckled at myself, approaching the bar. The winter weather wasn't too cold today; the sun was able to provide a small bit of warmth for the busy people scurrying through the icy streets. I pranced up the stone stairs, pulling open the door and hurrying inside. Scraping the snow off my feet at the door.
"I'm home!" I yelled, my voice echoing throughout the large room. Everyone turned to look at me, sending me a wave or a smile. I spotted Mikoto over at the bar, with Anna beside him. I grinned and walked over, tossing my bag on the bar and sitting on a barstool.
"How was school?" He asked, glancing at me curiously.
"It was good I guess." I shrugged, turning the injured side of my face away from him slightly. He furrowed his eyebrows and leaned closer to me.
"Uh oh." I thought, coughing awkwardly.
"Hey, Izumo, can I have a water please?"
"Sure thing, (Y/N)."
I smiled in thanks and let my eyes shift over to Mikoto's. His amber orbs were watching me intently; he could read me like an open book. He knew something was off.
"Any problems today?" he faced the bar again, closing his eyes and leaning his face on his hand.
"Nope!" I said, nervousness lacing my voice. I wasn't good at lying.
Izumo slid my glass of water over to me and I quickly grabbed it and took a sip.
"Your principal called this morning, idiot." Eric called over to me, instantly being shushed by the surrounding spectators. I unintentionally choked on my water, spitting some back into the glass.
"Some kid is in the hospital, huh?" Mikoto asked, a small smirk creeping onto his face.
"Well it wasn't my fault, he started it. He was dissing Homra." I muttered, placing my glass down on the wooden surface of the counter.
