~ Reader's POV ~

The snow fell thickly at this time of year in Shizume city. White coated the rooftops and streetlights. Giving everything a frosty shimmery glow, Christmas lights decorated almost every house or building and music could be heard around every corner. It induced a joyful feeling among the hearts of many, including all the gangs in the area, especially Homra, the red clan.

Actually...my family, to be exact.

It was always a nice atmosphere in the bar, but on the holidays, it was even better. Everybody dressed up, whether it be in actual Santa hats or just wrapping a string of Christmas lights around themselves for shits and giggles.

In fact, I was currently watching them do just that, laughing to myself quietly and nibbling on a sugar cookie. We were all trying to decorate the tree that Izumo had brought in a few days ago, keyword; trying.

"No! Yata, it doesn't go on there like that!" Rikio scolded slapping the vanguard's hand away. He really had no clue how to work with tinsel.

"Right, you wrap it around the tree starting at the bottom and work your way up." Bando explained, showing him.

There was an angry hue of red on Yata's cheeks, it was sheer embarrassment, and I couldn't help but smile sheepishly at him, this was my idea in the first place.

"(Y/n)! Come here would you?"

"Yeah yeah." I sighed, standing up from my spot on the barstool and walking towards the group. I felt a slight tug on the back of my shirt and I turned around to look.

Anna had a grip on the fabric and was smiling up at me; I grinned and took her hand, holding it in mine.

"You want to help us?" I asked and she nodded excitedly, she ran ahead of me to join the others. I glanced over at the bar and my gaze landed on our king. I crossed my arms playfully and a small smirk crept onto my lips.

"Why don't you come help?"

He looked up at me with dull amber eyes.

"Christmas isn't really my thing." He said plainly, lighting a cigarette.

"Oh come on, please? Just this once." I pleaded, feeling my heart tighten slightly at his rejection.

"(Y/n)..." He sighed in a warning tone. I felt my smirk fall into a frown and I turned my back to him.

"Fine." I grumbled, leaving him be and grabbing a box of ornaments.

"Let's start with these!" I yelled, catching everyone's attention.

The boys faced me with wide eyes and I giggled at their attire.

"Chitose, I don't think you're supposed to wear tinsel, and who put the star on Shohei?"

"It was Yata!"

"It wasn't me, you asshole."

"Don't lie!"

"I ain't lying!"

I simply ignored their bickering and set the box down on the couch, I opened it and pulled out some shiny red orbs. I handed one to Anna and showed her where to put it.

Eventually the chatter fell silent and they were all watching us with a smile.

Soon enough, everyone was adorning the tree, and laughing at the dumbest things, like our reflections in the ornaments.

I sat down on the floor beside the presents, and unintentionally let my gaze wander over to the bar, Izumo was cleaning glasses as usual, but he would smile at us every once and while and he was also wearing a Santa hat.
