~ Reader's POV ~

I walked through the busy streets of Shizume city; my sketchbook was tucked tightly under my arm as I shoved through the crowds. It was a nice Saturday afternoon, the sun was warm and bright, after a long winter, it was finally spring again. I enjoyed days like these, especially since it was my day off work. Don't get me wrong, I loved that little café downtown, but it was nice to have a break once and a while.

Today I decided to gather up some of the scattered graphite pencils around my apartment and head out in search of something to draw. I loved drawing, I wasn't amazing at art, but I wasn't terrible either. It's an interesting concept, there's always something to learn or someway to improve, and so it never get's boring or repetitive.

I settled onto a park bench that overlooked a lake, there were a few birds on the water and a gentle waterfall nestled into a small cliff. A few people had gathered on top of it and were jumping over the edge into the water below. This was a perfect scene to sketch.

And so I began, first the water and then the birds, next the cliff and the waterfall, as I was working with the details, I noticed a group of boys gathered around the lake, they were laughing and smiling, so I thought they might be a good addition to the drawing. I grinned and began blushing as I sketched out the minutia. I always thought drawing random strangers was awkward, so I tried to keep it blunt and simple. I touched up different areas of the drawing, at this point I completely lost track of my surroundings, I didn't realize that the group of boys were walking over to me. So I continued working.

"This one interests me." I thought to myself as I added shading to his hood and hat. I noticed a shadow looming over my drawing and I looked up startled.

"Hey there, what're you drawing?"

I looked down to my drawing and then back up at the guy, oh my god; it's the same person! I blushed profusely and turned the drawing towards him.

"Oh hey that's pretty good! Wait, is that us?" His friend questioned.

"Y-yes, sorry, I was just drawing what was out there." I explained, twirling my pencil in my fingers.

"Don't worry about it! It looks cool, I'm Bando by the way, and this is Shohei, Yata and Rikio." He pointed at each member of his little group. I smiled at them,

"Nice to meet you all, I'm (Y/N)."

"Sweet! I'm in a drawing." Shohei grinned, throwing his arm around Yata's shoulders, he scowled in response. Bando sat next to me and held out his hand for my sketchbook.

"May I?" He asked politely. I tightened my grip on the book, uncertain to whether or not I should let him look, this one just contained scenery, not like my other ones that were quite personal.

So I extended my arm towards him and he gently took the book from me. The other's gathered around him and the smile on his face grew as he flipped through the pages.

"Wow! These are places from all over the city, right?"

"Yeah, I like to draw a lot." I chuckled, running my hand over my arm nervously. "I um, think that a lot of buildings around here are nice too."

I noticed Bando had stopped on one page, his hand hovering over the corner hesitantly staring at it. I glanced over, it was a bar I had drawn a while back, and I liked the colors.

"This...do you know what it is?" He asked.

I gave him a puzzled look and nodded my head, "Of course, it's a bar isn't it?"

He sighed and smiled lightly, "Yeah...right."

I nudged his arm, "No, what's wrong?"

"I just hang out there a lot is all."

"Oh, so you're a member then?"

"What?!"

"...Of Homra? Right?"

He handed me back my sketchbook and I folded it closed, I let a smirk creep onto my lips, I knew all about the clans, I had even drawn pictures of a couple of their battles I came across, but those were in other sketchbooks. I couldn't help it; the colors were so incredibly gorgeous.

"How do you know about Homra?" Yata asked me, sitting on the other side of the bench.

"I know about all the clans, I once saw you guys fighting the blues and the colors were so pretty that I – being an artist of course – couldn't resist finding out more about you." I explained, tucking my pencils into a small bag.

"Oh well um... who did you like more?" Bando asked quietly. I could barely hear what he said. I grinned.

"The Red. It was a captivating, with that purple-ish tint and all, I mean you see blue all the time anyways." I shrugged, tucking my sketchbook under my arm again and standing up.

"I should get home, it's getting late." I said sadly.

"W-wait! Um, let me walk you home." Bando muttered, there was red visible on his cheeks. I giggled and agreed, waving goodbye to the other three and leading him down the pathway.

"So, you live down here then?"

"Yeah, in an apartment complex, with all the art supplies I buy, it's all I could afford."

"Really? It's that expensive?"

"Oh yeah."

"...You should drop by the bar sometime and meet the others."

I looked over at him, he was a very interesting person, he seemed to be super sweet, but his features were hidden behind those sunglasses, and I really couldn't help but wonder,

"What color are his eyes?"

"Yeah sure, that would be great." I smiled.

After a ten-minute walk, we had arrived at the apartment complex.

"Thank you." I said, sending him a small grin and bowing curtly before turning to head into the building.

"Wait (Y/N)." Bando grabbed my wrist tightly, causing me to spin around and trip over my own feet, falling into his chest. I felt my face heat up instantly and I jerked my head away, looking at the ground.

"S-sorry, I just... here." He handed me a small piece of paper, on it was a series of numbers: his phone number.

My eyes lit up and my smile returned to my face.

"Cool! I'll probably drop by the bar tomorrow, but I want to ask you something." I took a tiny step closer to him. I heard his breathing hitch.

"O-okay, what is it?"

"What color are your eyes?"

He stared at me for a moment before laughing, a huge ear-to-ear grin on his face. I frowned, crossing my arms.

"No need to laugh about it!" I yelled, puffing out my cheeks angrily.

"No! I'm sorry it's just I didn't expect that."

"Well that's what I said!"

"Okay, well if you do come by the bar tomorrow, you can find out."

I sighed, "I guess there's no helping it then."

"Nope."

"Goodnight then."

"Goodnight...(Y/N)."

And with that, he turned and walked down the street, I watched him as dark overcame the city. I headed into the building and up to my apartment; I unlocked the door and waltzed in, not hesitating in going to my bedroom and flopping onto my bed.

Oh, the beauty of art.
