"Babe, I have something to tell you," I started and took Tyrone's attention from his toy. I took the toy from his hands so his eyes will be on me.

I took a glance at Thomas who looks to be readying himself.

"Remember the story your teacher told you in play school? The one about the little boy who loves his mother and father so much?" I asked.

"About Sawyer?" Ty asked.

"Yes, that one," I said. "I remembered you like that story."

My son nodded, "Yes because his daddy gave him a blue hat and I want a daddy too."

I smiled and took a glance at Thomas who is now smiling, "Well, if I give you a Daddy now, will you be happy?"

Tyrone smiled and nodded, "What if your daddy is Tito Thomas..."

My son's eyes widened as if anticipating a happy news, "Would you like him to be your daddy?"

I nodded and he looked at Thomas who is smiling at him, "Will you give me a blue hat?"

"Errr, will it be okay if I give you a green hat instead?" Thomas said. Naku naman hanggang ngayon ba naman.

Tyrone thought about it for a moment, "Green's better! I like green!" he smiled.

I turned Tyrone to look at me before anybody gets excited about the green hat, "Ty, Mommy is serious. Tito Thomas is your real father."

My son's forehead creased, "Like the one Bobby has?"

Bobby is Tyrone's classmate in London. Bobby's father is the one picking him up in school. And Tyrone sees this everytime.

Pasensiya po at ang concept ng father para sa anak ko ay yung tungkol lang dun sa story at dun sa kaibigan niya. I didn't plan this to happen. But whatever.

"Yes, Babe," I said.

And Tyrone's face burst into sunshine. He beamed like he never had.

"Tito Thomas is my daddy. Tito Thomas is my daddy!" he chanted happily with his arms up.

I smiled at my son's reaction. Though I know he doesn't totally grasped everything about the truth that I told him, I think that this is a good sign of what's to come between him and his father.

When I looked up to Thomas, he was stuck in the moment. His eyes glistened as his son welcomes him into his life.

I patted his shoulder, "Wala palang kahirap-hirap to. Sabi na eh, hindi teleserye ang buhay natin eh." I tried to ease out the situation. Mukhang maninigas na tong si Thomas eh.

Thomas looked at me and smiled.

"Tito Thomas is my daddy!" My son continued to chant.

I turned Tyrone to face me. "Babe, I think if Tito Thomas is your daddy, you should call him Daddy Thomas instead," I corrected.

My son's forehead creased, "Why?"

HAHA sabi sa inyo hindi naiintindihan lahat eh.

I heard Thomas chuckle on his side.

"Well Ty, that is what you call your father. You can call him Daddy, Papa or Tatay?" Thomas explained.

"Tuh-taey?" Tyrone asked. It made me smile. Pangit pala pakinggan ang Tatay pag may British accent ang nagsabi. Hahaha.

"Tatay. That is what little boys and little girls here in the Philippines call their fathers," Thomas said.

Tyrone doesn't look satisfied so Thomas explained more. He also explained what a father is. My son doesn't really have the correct concept, obviously.
