The dinner for me is uneventful. I wasn’t able to talk much with William since my teammates are all over him. Yeah even with their boyfriends and husbands around. Surprisingly, the boys are fond of William too. They talked about random things, y’know the usual boy stuffs like business, cars, shoes and sports, though William is a football guy and most of the boys are into basketball. Still, I think they are going along well.

Except for one though, Thomas whom I think drank a bottle of vinegar.

He was silently eating beside Tyrone. He’s discretely scowling that in one look you wouldn’t notice but I’m different. I am the second person in the world, next to his mom, who knows his face.

“Pst! Okay ka lang?” I asked him. I’m on the other side of Tyrone so I didn’t have to expend so much voice to talk to him.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” he said. “Finish your food.”

After that we didn’t talk anymore, more of like he didn’t talk to anyone anymore except for Tyrone.

When we were on dessert, I saw Thomas stood up from his seat to answer his phone. He went out of the restaurant as I follow him with my eyes.

Ano ang problema nun?

“Ara,” I heard someone called me. I turned and it was Jeron.

“Bakit?” I asked. The others were busy talking to each other and I thought nobody really noticed us talking.

“Sundan mo na,” he said.

“Huh? Sino?” I dumbly asked.

“Sino pa ba? Mukhang bad mood,” he said.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Thomas,” he just said.

“Ha? Bakit?” I said.

“Puntahan mo na lang, mukhang galit na ewan, hindi ako  pwedeng makipag-bromance ngayon. Nandito si Misis,” Jeron winked at me.

“Bading mo,” I said but stood up from my seat.

“Salamat,” he said.

“Kaw bahala sa anak ko ha,” I said.

“Ako na bahala,” he said.

I went out to look for Thomas but to no avail. I looked around only to find him seated on the hood of his car at the parking lot. He was talking to someone on the phone with one hand holding his phone to his ears and the other is laid across his chest. He looked up as I approach him.

“Yes Mom. I’m not sure where she wants to go home… Yeah… I’ll let you know… Okay… Love you too,” he said and I smile at his sweetness to his mother.

“Mommy mo?” I asked when he hang up.

“Yeah. She’s asking if we already had dinner and if you’re coming home to Taguig,” he informed.

“Kay Kuya na muna kami, kung okay lang,” I said.

“Of course,” he said with oddly neutral tone.

“May problema ba?” I asked.

He shook his head. “It’s nothing that you need to worry about.”

I walked to sit beside him. “Makikinig ako,” I said and faced him.

He smiled genuinely, “Thanks.” He lifted his arm that is not holding the phone and handed me a nice white calachuchi.

“Para sakin?” I asked and he nodded. I took the calachuchi from him.

“Sorry, I didn’t have anything for you today. Pinitas ko lang yan dun oh,” he said and pointed at the tree behind him.
