"How's the dinner? You had fun?" Thomas asked when I arrived at the Torress' residence to pick up Tyrone.
Thomas had a big smile and I can't help but feel butterflies in my stomach. After the realization that I had earlier, no thanks to Dawn by the way, it's like I'm looking at Thomas in a whole new perspective. Actually, it's not completely new, it's more of seeing him in this perspective all over again.
"Hey, something wrong? Did something happened?" he worriedly followed up when I didn't respond to his previous question.
"H-ha? W-wala, napagod lang. Alam mo naman yung mga teammates ko, makukulit," I lied.
"You sure?" he checked. Haay Thomas, bakit ka laging ganyan sakin. Yan tuloy, hindi ko na napigilan.
I nodded, "Yep, asan na si Ty? Uwi na kami."
"He's with Mariel in the garden. Why don't you stay for the night? Gabi na," he suggested.
"Huwag na, Thomas. At pagod ako, ayokong makipagtalo," I immediately responded.
"Anong nangyari sa dinner? Why are you so grumpy?" Thomas inquired.
Hindi ako grumpy, naaalibadbaran ako diyan sa mukha mong mahal ko pa rin hanggang ngayon. Bwisit ka. Kaya please, lubayan mo muna ako ngayon.
"Wala nga," I said.
"Are you sure?" he checked.
Ngayon ka pa talaga inatake ng kakulitan mo? Tigilan mo ko.
So as to not prolong the conversation, I tried to smile my happy and sweet smile to stop him from asking. "Napagdiskitahan lang ako nila Mika kanina pero wala yun. Alam mo namang normal na namin yun."
"Ahhh, okay," he said. Finally. "The driver will bring you to Kuya's condo if you really won't stay."
"Thank you," I said.
"I want to show you something," he suddenly blurted out. He quickly grabbed my hand and it sent electricity all over my body.
Tigilan niyo na ko. Umamin na nga diba. Ayoko ng mga kuryente at mga butterflies in my stomach na yan. Please lang.
"So because Tyrone was super makulit earlier. Katherine had a very bright idea. She let him bake. Nakita ko at mukhang masaya naman. I joined in," Thomas proudly relayed as I let him drag me to the kitchen. "I made something for you."
He went directly to the enormous refrigerator but before opening it, Thomas turned to me. "Wait, close your eyes, first" he demanded with a smile.
"May pa ganun pa talaga?" I didn't realize I was smiling at him.
"Siyempre. Close na," he said, child-like.
I eventually obliged. I waited for a few moments.
"Open," Thomas happily said.
When I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Thomas' beautiful and flawless smiling face in front of me. Ang gwapo talaga. Sino ba naman ang hindi maii-inlove dito? Mahalin din kaya ulit ako nito? Panu kung hindi na? What if...
Until Thomas' wiggled his eyebrows, "Uhhh the cake, Ars," he said and pointed to the cake. Then I realized the surprise isn't him.
Awww. It was a nice, heart-shaped cake covered in red icing. It was the size of a cupcake and it looks adorable. For a first timer, Thomas' cake looks amazing. I looked up to him and he was expectantly looking at me. I couldn't help but smile.
