After all the preparations, finally it's opening day of our Spikers Spa. The Bullies and I were finally able to take care of all the papers and construction of our new business after winning the championship in the PSL All Filipino Conference.
The opening day was a big celebration attended by a lot of sports and media people. Siyempre si Mika ang humakot ng lahat ng to para na rin sa promotion ng Spa namin. And true enough, this day is a big hit. We prepared a luncheon for all the visitors after the mini program.
"Excited na ko sa business venture na to," Cieene exclaimed then she turned to me, "Ara, Thomas salamat sa pagiging punong abala sa lahat ng preparations," Cienne praised. The Bullies plus the boys are in one table.
Since I'm the least busy of the five of us, I spearheaded all the preparations. Carol has her restaurant, Cienne is also running the clothing business she has with her sisters, Kim has a coaching and commentating job and of course, Mika has a lot of jobs to take care of. So basically I'm the free-est. Thank God for Thomas, by the way. He helped me with all the papers and legalities regarding this business.
"In fairness naman sa inyong dalawa, you make a good team," Mika interjected.
"Kami pa ba," Thomas proudly said.
"Oh ano pang hinihintay niyo? Kasalan na!" Gab said which earned a loud agreement from the rest of the group.
"Ako na naman?! Parang awa niyo na, tama na please," I said.
None of my friends have a single idea of what I exactly feel about Thomas. I'm still not sure of what to do about it yet so I decided to keep it to myself for the moment. So I continued to be defensive whenever this whole Thomas and Ara shenanigans pop out in conversations.
"En guarde na naman po si Victonara," Kim said.
And everybody contributed on sautéing me. Good friends.
"Congratulations girls," Nathan suddenly blurted out. Thank you Nate! Kaya gustong-gusto kong kasama to eh. Eto yung nag-iisang savior ko. He always salvages me whenever everybody starts on zooming in to me and Thomas.
"I am sure this is going to be a success," Jeron said.
"I agree!" Arnold joined.
Haaay salamat nawala na yung spotlight sakin. Finally the conversation veered away from me until it went back to me again. Haay.
"Ara, akala ko ba pupunta kang London," Carol asked.
"Yep, that's the plan," I said. "I think a week from now."
"Iiwan mo si Ty dito?" Cienne asked.
"No, sasama kami," Thomas beamed.
"Eeeeehhh," they all said in unison.
"Hindi na ba talaga papakawalan Bro?" Jeron bantered which Thomas answered with a smile.
"Heh! Mag-uusap pa uli kami ni Thomas," I said firmly.
Thomas forehead creased, "I thought we already agreed."
"Shush!" I dismissed.
"Ai naku, nakakasawa ng pag-tripan si Ara, iba naman!" Kim impatiently said.
"Oh sige, ikaw naman. Sinagot mo na ba yang si Nathan?" Cienne suddenly blurted out.
And to our surprise, Kim blushed. My gosh may-ba-blush pa pala tong si Kim. "Gaga ka Cienne, huwag ako."
