“Tyrone, are you ready?” I called.
My son and I are in my Kuya June’s condo. We came home last night from the Torres residence. I have a game today so I need to get my things.
“Daddy’s going to be here anytime!” I said when Ty didn’t come out.
“Ready!” Ty popped out from the room.
We are just waiting for Thomas. He will pick us up and we’ll go to the arena together. I won’t be joining the team bus since I’m already late and it’s really out of the way if I still rush to the main office to join my teammates.
“You tell your Daddy later that you have your apples inside here,” I said as I help Ty to his bag. “Your water and your chocolate drink are in here too. If you’re feeling hot, you also have a shirt here.”
“Yes babe,” Ty nodded.“And you tell your Daddy to look for Uncle William. He’ll be watching the game too,” I instructed.
The game will be played in San Juan Arena and compared to the bigger venues; it won’t be hard for Thomas and Ty to look for William later.
“Nasan na ba yung si Thomas,” I murmured to myself.
I took my phone out to call William and he readily answered.
“Hey Will,” I said.
“Tara, you ready for the game?” he asked.
“Yep, you sure you know your way?” I asked.
“Well, I don’t know my way but my driver provided by the hotel knows,” he said.
“Are sure –,”“Hey, focus on your game and don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself. And I’m very good with directions,” he said.
“Okay. Thomas and Tyrone will be looking for you later,” I said.
“Alright. You go and get ready. I will be cheering for you,” he said.
“Well, I’m number 8, make sure you’re cheering for the right girl,” I said.
“Number 8, noted,” he said and then we said goodbye.
Few moments later and Thomas arrived. By the way, the conversation we had in their veranda was never talked about nor mentioned again. I don’t know if he’s serious about the date or he just said it out of the moment. We’ll see and I don’t want to start the conversation.
“Sorry, natraffic ako. Let’s go?” Thomas said who looked like he’s the one who’s going to be late.
“Huminga ka muna,” I said and went to the kitchen. I took a glass of water and gave it to Thomas.
“Thanks,” he said. And then we were off.
While in Thomas’ car. “Nasa bag na lahat ng kailangan ni Ty ha,” I told Thomas.
“Opo,” he smiled. “Alam ko na po ang gagawin.”
“Thomas favor naman oh. Pwede mo bang hanapin si William mamaya? Manonood daw siya ng game, pakibigay na rin tong pass,” I said and fished out the pass I asked for Will.
Thomas’ expression didn’t escape my eyes. His face turned annoyed. “Sige,” he shortly said but not without the growling face.
Obvious naman kasi na ayaw ni Thomas kay William dahil sa kung anu-ano niyang pinag-iisip pero alam ko naman na hindi ganun kasama to.
“Thanks. May utang ako sayo,” I said.
“That’s more like, I’ll let you know when I will collect it,” he smirked.
