Aphmau stood in Aaron's bathroom, examining herself in the mirror as she only wore his dark red bathrobe. Now that she knew why she was gaining weight the small 'baby bump' she was developing was adorable. She loved it so much. She was already nine weeks along and had her first doctors appointment would be in a few days time. They wouldn't know the gender of the baby until she was about sixteen weeks along, but she was excited just to hear the little heartbeat for the first time.
She and Aaron also agreed that it would be best not to tell anybody until later, until they saw the baby for the first time. They didn't want to be 'doted' on, and Aphmau didn't want to be sidelined by her friends whenever she wanted to do something. Aaron was already doing enough of that.
She sighed, tying the bathroom a little tighter before walking out of the bathroom and down the stairs to the dining room where Aaron was. Aaron was sitting at the at the table doing some bills and trying to figure out what they were going to need to be new parents. Sure Aphmau knew she could just ask her mom, but Aaron seemed to be enjoying the research, learning about what Aphmau's body was going to go through and how to make her feel better during the harder parts of her pregnancy.
"Aaron." She giggled, looking over his shoulder at what he was doing. He had a side page pulled up that said "Cribs for Newborns". "We have plenty of time to figure this all out, we don't have to worry about it so much right now."
"I know, I just want to know what to expect. I mean, as much as it can be expected, I'm just afraid of what could possibly happen to you... to our baby... Not to mention we have no idea how anybody will react. Especially not your mom."
A cold chill shot down Aphmau's spine, she had been so worried about her friends would react she hadn't even thought of what her mom would do. Her mom hated Aaron, but loved babies. How would she react when she found out Aphmau was pregnant with Aaron's kid? Her mom was also traditional and believed people should be married before they have kids; and sure Aaron and Aphmau had talked about marriage a few times neither had given it a serious thought.
"Yeah, you're right." Aphmau chuckled, trying not to feel nervous about it. "But... until the doctors appointment it's not sure that I'm even pregnant... I could be wrong."
Aaron frowned, getting up and hugging her. "Aphmau, no matter what happens I'll be there. I promise, I will always be next to you. Never doubt that. I won't be like my parents I won't just up and vanish on you. We're a team and we're in this together."
"O-okay. Thank you, Aaron." She said, kissing him gently on the lips before she turned and went back up the stairs.
