It was about 2AM when there was a loud pounding on Lucinda and Cadenza's front door. It caused both girls to tense up and look around fearfully as the rain poured outside with the occasional explosion of thunder nearby. It had been pouring outside for hours and nobody in their right mind would be outside. Or that's what they were both thinking.

Both girls peeked out of their bedrooms, looking at each other fearfully. Lucinda picked up her staph and gulped heavily. "I-I'm going to check it out." She said, nibbling her lip.

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"N-no. I'll be okay." Lucinda promised. Lucinda then walked down the hallway towards the front door. Lucinda peeked through the peephole, glaring against the darkness before lowering her staph. Standing on the other side was a familiar white haired, green eyed boy who was soaked to the bone. "Travis?" Lucinda quickly opened the door, looking at him. "Travis?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TIME IT IS?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE?!"

Travis sniffled, which Lucinda first thought was because of the fact it was raining, but it was obvious that he was crying.

"Travis...?"

"Lucinda..." He said, "I-I'm sorry... I um... Dante is with Nicole an-and Dante and Laurence are too heavy sleepers so they didn't answer... I tried to get them to wake up for over an hour... I'm sorry..."

"C-come inside." Lucinda said, backing up and letting the soaked boy inside. Tears still dripping down his face. "Cadenza! Bring a towel!" She then turned to Travis touching his face, "My Irene, you're freezing. Here, take off your shoes and shirt."

Travis, who normally would have poked fun - or flirted - didn't say anything and just did as he was told pushing his soaked clothes into the corner. His face was pale and his eyes swollen and red. He looked broken... almost as though all the life had been ripped out of him.

Cadenza soon brought him a jacket, tossing a blanket over Travis's shoulders, looking worriedly at the two friends.

"Travis, are you alright? W-what happened?" Lucinda wondered.

"I um..." He cleared his throat, which sounded cracky from a cold. "My mom... my mom showed up at my job today... I haven't seen her in six years..."

"That's good." Cadenza said, "I-Isn't it."

Travis shook his head. "No... She was the one who left me. She left me to live life with some random man with money and now she comes back with no warning or explanations saying she's 'changed'. SHE HASN'T CHANGE!" Travis nearly yelled, crying even harder now. "I COULD SMELL THE LIQUOR ON HER BREATH! SHE'S EXACTLY THE SAME SHE WAS! SHE WAS DRUNK AND WASN'T THERE TO SEE ME! SHE JUST WANTED TO GET MONEY TO BUY MORE BOOZE!" Travis fell to his knees, sobbing loudly as he hugged himself. "She left me all alone... I-I thought she would come back. But she didn't. I would come home from school everyday and she wouldn't be home. I would make two plates of food; one for each of us. I would leave the door unlocked so she could come home. I kept her clothes washed and her bed made even though most of the clothes were gone as well as the suitcase... But... I still hoped she would come home... but she never did. Then she just shows up like nothing happened! She acted like I was still in Highschool! That she was still my mom! That she didn't leave me with abandonment issues and a painful gnawing in my chest until this day!"

Lucinda and Cadenza looked at each other, both clearly trying to understand the heartbreak that Travis was feeling. Both of them had their own family problems. Cadenza was adopted after her parents both were killed and Lucinda hadn't been close with her mother in a long time. But nothing was as bad as what Travis was going through. Lucinda had learned years ago that Travis lost his dad at a young age and now that she knew his mother was the way she was... She felt bad for him.

"Cadenza, does your brother still have some clothes here that he was having you stitch?" Lucinda asked.

"Y-yeah." Cadenza said, "I'll go get some."

"Thanks. Come on Travis, let's go to the bathroom, I'll dry your hair. I don't want you getting sick." She said, taking his hand and helping him to his feet before leading the almost lifeless boy towards the bathroom.

The boy just sniffled and sobbed, trying to sound quiet for the fact that he was obviously embarrassed about how hard he was crying, but he said nothing. She sat him on the toilet seat and then grabbed her blow dryer running the hot air through his white hair as she ran her fingers through it.

"I'm sorry." He sniffled, rubbing his nose. "I-I just... I'm sorry..."

"Don't be. You have no reason to be sorry, I promise. We all need to break sometimes." She said, "Are you alright?"

"I-I'm fine, I'm sorry that I um... that I came over so late."

"It's. Fine." She said, watching as Cadenza walked into the bathroom with a set of cry clothes.

"Here you go, Travis. A-and I can pull out the hide-a-bed if you want to stay the night here."

"Thanks..." Travis said, taking the clothes slowly. "And... thanks for letting me cry..."

"You know." Lucinda frowned, "If you ever want to talk to us - about anything - you can."

"Thanks guys." He said, standing up and hugging the two girls. "Thank you guys so so much..."
