Laurence peeked through Garroth's bedroom door, which was open just enough to let in some of the AC that was blowing through the entire house. Sure it was a little cold for Laurence's liking, but that wasn't why he was shaking on this specific day. No. Today was going to be the day he told Garroth how he felt.
It had been too long since the visit to Meteli to see his dad, and honestly he couldn't keep ignoring the advice he had been given, he had to take advantage of the wise words from Hayden, and use it to tell Garroth. Though, the constant fear of being rejected by Garroth seemed to pull him away from he door, trying to convince him to wait for another day. But he couldn't turn back now, his hand was already tapping on the door.
Garroth turned to Laurence and gave his ever beautiful smile, making the brunette gulp in fear. "Laurence, what's up?"
Laurence pushed open the door, his heart pounding fast enough he honestly thought it was going to burst out of his chest, or stop all together. He was scared, so very very scared. "G-Garroth, can we talk?"
"Of course!" Garroth said, turning off the computer he had been playing on, turning all his attention to Laurence, making the fear only worse.
Laurence gave a gulp, closing the door behind him so that he didn't have the option to run away in the far. He then sat on the edge of Garroth's bed and looked at the blonde, who spun his computer chair around so that he could look at Laurence.
"G-G-Garroth..." Laurence could hardly form words.
"Laurence?" Garroth frowned, watching as Laurence began to nibble at his bottom lip, fighting off nausea. "Are you alright, you've been acting strange these past few weeks."
"Y-yeah. I-I mean... n-no..." He let out a trembling breath, "I'm alright, but I have to a-a-ask you something. H-how much... how much do you remember about your trip to the dentist?" He asked, his voice just loud enough to hear.
Garroth gave out a chuckle, "Besides the fact that I made a fool of myself, not much. I remember getting the Laughing-Gas, and then nothing until the next morning, why?"
"W-well." Laurence sucked in a breath, trying to calm himself, "When you were under the effects of the gas... you asked if I loved you." He said, watching as a curious blush danced it's way onto Garroth's cheeks. "I-I said I did, I mean your my best friend... b-b-but then you said that you meant if I love-love you..." Laurence began to feel sicker by the second. "A-and... I-I-I do..." He looked as shock flooded Garroth's face and Laurence tightly closed his eyes, tears pricking at the corners. "I-I love you, G-Garroth. I love you more than a friend and a brother..."
"Laurence." Garroth said, his voice causing Laurence to open his eyes once again.
"N-no, you don't have to say it. I-I-I'm disgusting. I-I know I am, How can I go from liking Aphmau for so long to suddenly saying something like this a-and I don't know. I-I mean I do like Aphmau, b-but I don't think I like her the way I always thought I had..." Tears dripped from his eyes, streaking his cheeks. "I-I understand if you never want to talk to me again..."
Garroth got to his feet, walking over to Laurence, looming over him making Laurence suspect that Garroth was going to hit him. But instead of the pain he had been waiting for Garroth wrapped his arms around his shoulders and pulled him into a tight hug, running his fingers through Laurence's untamable hair. Garroth then began to rock Laurence, and rocked him protectively.
"Laurence, I could never ever hate you." Garroth said, a blush on his own face. "I don't remember asking you that question, but I'm glad I did. Because... I-I've always kind of liked you... I guess it took me being drugged to try and do something about it."
"R-really?" Laurence looked at Garroth, sniffling.
Garroth nodded, "Really. I-I like you Laurence n-no like isn't the right word... I-I think I might love you..."
Laurence could hardly believe it, his heart was racing for another reason as happy tears flooded his face as he hugged tightly to Garroth. "I-I-I love you..."
"T-then how about we give us a shot?"
"Y-you mean, a date?"
"Y-yeah." Garroth, pulled away from the hug, touching Laurence's hand with a smile, "A date."
"B-but what will the others think?" Laurence asked nervously.
"I don't know, but we don't have to tell them right now. We can just see where this takes us for a while, then worry about everything else when it comes to that point." Garroth promised, kissing the top of Laurence's head.
"O-okay. T-t-thank you, Garroth."
"No. Thank you, Laurence, for being brave enough to say something."
