Aaron and Aphmau walked through a parking lot full of used cars looking at both the prices of the cars as well as the interior. Normally the two wouldn't worry about getting a car but after hearing that Laurence had gotten hurt somehow it broke Aphmau's heart to know that if something like that had ever happened again she wouldn't be able to help any of her friends again.
"I think we should get a red one." Aaron said, making Aphmau giggle.
"Of course you do, red is like your theme color." She laughed and rolled her eyes, "I think we should get something less obnoxious to the eyes though, not to mention the red ones seem to be more expensive."
"Good point." Aaron shrugged.
Sure, getting a car together made Aphmau feel like they were moving too fast but at the same time she felt as though it was time to make a step like this one. Especially since it would help not only them but the rest of their friends as well. It was easier this way.
"What about a van?" Aaron asked.
Aphmau laughed at the option, "What? Aaron, we don't need a van. Besides it would be kind of creepy to get a van for our first car. I was thinking of that little black one."
Aaron hummed, as the two of them then went over two it and looked inside the windows. For a used car it was in surprisingly good shape, true the seats in the front had cracks in the leather because of the sun, but the seats in the back were still in pretty good shape. The outside of the car was in good shape as well, though there was a hint of rust around the front passenger door.
Between the relatively good shape it was in, as well as the low price, both of them instantly began to think there was something wrong with it. There had to be.
"Lookin' at ol' Shadow are ya'?" Said an overly excited voice, making the two turn to look at who was talking to them. There was a man with messy brown hair walking towards them. "Great car this one!"
"It looks nice." Aphmau admitted.
"Yeah, but what's wrong with it?" Aaron asked, getting to the point.
"Ah, the navigation system mostly. Also the oil filter needs to be changed. Easy things to be fixed. Normally I wouldn't tell ya this, but to be honest, Shadow has been with me since '05, she just needs a great home. Hence the price. She really is a great car, just needs a bit of TLC."
Aphmau and Aaron looked at each other, clearly both thinking that the mans explination was true. A car being in the same parking lot for 11 years, the price getting lower and lower with each passing year.
"May we take it for a test drive?" Aaron wondered.
"Of course." The man said, sounding happy at his request. "'ear that ol' girl! You're goin' fo' a drive! Come with me you two, I'll get'cha the keys."
An hour later Aphmau and Aaron were on the way home in their new car, "Shadow". The man had been right; the car ran great and was all around a good car beside the broken navigation screen it was fine. Aaron had actually said that he was planning to fix the oil filter himself as a bit of a "hobby" when he didn't have to work. But they both agreed that the car would be mostly used for going to work and emergency runs.
Aphmau blushed, then giggled, "Well, buying a car, you offering to let me move in with. Aaron, it's almost like you're trying to get me to marry you."
"Well." Aaron glanced at her, "Is it working?"
"M-maybe."
"Well then, maybe I'll have to try harder so that 'maybe' turns into a 'yes'." He smiled, then looked back at the road.
